Rather than trying to reverse the conviction (an impossible task in this corrupt system), the MC chose to spend exactly what he earned to buy his own freedom. Problem is, he's out all the money and hasn't cleared his name. Sometimes there's no good or easy solution, but come on, take the money and wear the collar for 5 more minutes. Violence is (sometimes) the answer.

Don't worry, it's a Japanese MC in a revenge story...he will not only forgive everyone, he'll probably apologize to them after he saves everyone and the world from some unspeakable evil.
Already the chapter 1.2 states the MC will become a hero (that is, an upstanding fellow, since it was the narration that stated it, not some character in their dialogue). So, this series, despite being so lousy otherwise, at least was honest about that by revealing early on the MC will not actually seek vengeance for real. It's just weird the beginning of the manga was like from an edgelord series, with the MC being mistreated, wrongfully sentenced, abused, and almost murdered. Usually that leads to an edgelord story, for a reason.

i hope that lady got Rped and preg before cyclo save her :cautious:
Are you seriously wishing harm on someone? That’s beyond disturbing. Comments like this are part of the problem — they reflect the mindset of people who enable or even justify assault. You should take a long, hard look at what you just said

If you say that she betrayed him, then you are completely wrong. And if you justify that she deserved to be treated like that, then you are even worse.

For those who say she should understand because she knows him, let me tell you: often, the closest people are the biggest betrayers. In real life, there are many cases where someone close turns out to be a criminal.

In the end, she was probably very confused, thinking, "Oh God, did he actually do that?" A part of her was likely scared it might be true. She was misled.

It's really a shame that, based on what others are saying, she seems to be the only one suffering the consequences of
this.

I don't think she deserves that, ultimately it was people in positions of authority framing him.

Using their position and credibility to paint him as a criminal, she likely was super confused, like "Oh god, did he actually do that?"

A part of her was likely scared that it would actually be true, specially if both a police officer and the saintess testified against him.

The only people that deserve punishment are those that abuse power and authority for nefarious goals like those two cunts did against the MC.

The other people in his life from his ex-fiance, sister and the other lady, are victims of those who abused the trust placed on the office of a police officer and the hero.

The hero knows about the embezzlement and corruption within the church but chooses to do nothing as it would play in his favour, the saintess is unlikely to know as she is someone more naïve and actually doing positive work not knowing the rot within the organisation.

His sister likely thinks he is hopeless more so in an affectionate way, in part looking down at him because she has gotten powerful but overall still caring about her brother.

All are victims of a system that allowed what I would call predatory individuals to have power over others.
Glad to see someone actually understands.

At least there's someone who's sensible.
I'm on the 'The lady didn't really do anything wrong' side. Sure, she could have believed the MC didn't do anything wrong in the face of the trial and guilty verdict and the saintess condemning him as well, but that's like saying you should believe your friends and family have done nothing wrong no matter the evidence.

She seemed upset that MC had done wrong, rather than throwing him away, she was mislead.
It's a shame, based on what others are saying, that she's the only one to really suffer the consequences of her actions, while the other harsher ladies/sister seem to suffer little consequence, when their actions are thoroughly more neglectful and damaging to MC.

This seems to be an odd trend (in these kinds of comics) where the main perpetrators suffer little come uppance, and others who are less at fault suffer the full brunt.

No way—Is this for real?
From what I can remember, Cyclo ends up meeting her again in some village where she is a slave. Things didn't go so well when they met up again. After bit, Cyclo was about to buy her freedom and have her as another companion but she was fatally wounded by some beasts. Before she could officially die, he brings her back as a golem but that was essentially a temp solution and she dies shortly after.
