It hasn't got anything to do with clocks or time. It's such pointless waste of potential from the author.

Especially when there was the set up of the author's own making for him to fix the rich lady's old clock that they've just...put to the side, or only used it as a framing device for the incompetence of the related guild.

This story didn't put it to pretty much any use. Perhaps freezing his body's state in time, back in the deep dungeon, so that he didn't need to eat was the only time. Otherwise it's just totally random powers he calls clock-sword, clock-shield, clock-explosion, clock-storage... It hasn't got anything to do with clocks or time. It's such pointless waste of potential from the author.

Of so many ways the power of the clock could work, it chose the worst and most sought after. Disappointing...
