Magic has better side cast (the students at least and getting a demon familiar)
Sword arc has the better villain and training montage? For me at least. At least if I remember it right, villain for sword arc was an acquaintance of his mom, and since this was still the start of the series, the training was longer

There is such a high level of skill where you move right past self acknowledgment and loop back around to beginner level. Where some have done it so often that not even a sliver of impressivness is left in them. Yet that because it is now so easy, they start to question as to what is really is truely even difficult.

Mc isn't quite here yet, but he has alreasy lost all sense of being impressed outside of it being something new to him. The novelty of it has just been completely ruined for him due to all of his excessive hard work.

Have to say that the "I am your creator" reminded me of a series I follow called Girl Genius. A world filled with 'Sparks' who are basically all mad scientists. And have a survival rate in the single digit % when they create their first monstrosity. Usually because it takes offense to "I am your creator and you must obey me".

It was lampshaded by the same series with this notable sequence:
green monster: GRAAAAH!
Agatha: STOP!
monster: GRAA?
Agatha: I am NOT your creator! You were NOT created to serve me-- and I do NOT expect you to obey my commands or crush my enemies!
