People keep saying Rudeus is a 40 years old man, with so much life experience, but in fact a lot of that life experience is trash and is actually working against him. His social interactions in the previous life were mostly hostile. Sure, he functions much better than a regular 10 year old boy, but at the same time, he definitely doesn't work as well as someone in the same situation but with a more wholesome previous life. If he had been a person who finished school/uni normally and then worked somewhere and only had gaming as a hobby on his free time, he would be far more balanced. I'd say the failures of his previous life are showing now in certain subtle ways, not just in being a pervert. It would be expected that there's a hole in his sense of empathy after the experiences of his past life.
