i’m reading the web novel and and right before the school arc.. did they just fucking skip a whole novel? this is the most unloyal manga ever... hell, you can even call this it’s own series
@MXCL@Zenith_Tempest@Judasjudas
I find it funny how the author retroactively makes changes of things to non-canon to make Mushoku Tensei palpable to the mainstream audience. If I remember correctly he also made
MC secretly recording his niece in the bathtub and than later jerking off to that recording to it as "non-canon"
.
Had he kept that canon and
that the MC 11 year old son get fucked by his 25 year old aunt
I think the themes of Pedophilia in Mushoku Tensei would be something even the harden fans would have a hard time defending. Like not having a MC whose 34 years old having sexual desires and thoughts of children (and he
gets to act out on those desire mind you- has sex with underage girls, gets a harem of underage girls, gets them pregnant
) who just happened to be in a body of kid ,which totally makes it fine /s, was not bad enough. But the MC being in a boys body give the fanbase plausible deniability on MC being a pedophile till the end of days apparently.
But incase you haven't noticed, the author really has a lot of sexualization in Mushoku Tensei (cheating, rape, sexualization of underage girls , molestation, sexualizing breastfeeding,
MC licks his mom nipples as baby because his horny lol
, and so much more). But everything I just mentioned isn't just sexual fetishes for the fans and author to get off too /s. No sir, "it's excellent flaw character writing!" and "masterful world building"..... Like come on people, there's noting wrong Mushoku Tensei having pornish fantasies/fan services stuff but don't pretend or explained all that stuff away as "great, serious writing". You can still praise Mushoku Tensei with great world building without hold these other aspects of Mushoku Tensei as great.
What a shit show of a manga.. there's so little that makes sense and the only thing worth reading it for is the world building and Eris. I can't understand how it just glosses over some serious shit like slavery (and making it animefied to the point of excusing it), rape, writing off violent personalities as cute, pedophilia and molestation. While those kinds of tags aren't something i shy away from reading in h-manga, i don't think any story that's trying to be somewhat serious like this one should be treated with the same excuse as hentai. MC is a fucking dick and doesn't deserve most of his enormous luck that keeps raining on him every chapter. Who the fuck likes to root for the brat with super powers? Losers do.
i like it. it doesn't take itself too seriously. it's a lot better off not trying to make sense at all when it obviously makes no sense, and it's a lot more fun not worrying about plot holes even if they exist.
team roxy forever. (more goddess screentime when?)
I’d like to say something. This is a shot manga. Shot plot, shit characters, shit writing. Unoriginal and vaguely interesting. The anime on the other hand, is complex, funny, and interesting. Do not NOT watch the anime because you don’t like the manga.
already.
Can someone please give me a quick rundown on what happened after so far? I remember loving this then not being able to force myself to keep reading for years now because of this gut wrenching drama feeling.
What happened to the childhood elf friend? Spoil me if you must.
She left to train herself. He thought she ditched him. He realized he didn't progressed much after he get his ass beaten by some kind of living god. So he decide to go to a famous school, at this point the story completely lost itself, characters are unidimensional, and there is no progress in regard to the main plot.
Honestly you are not missing much. It think he ran out of ideas and have to keep up with the monthly release if he wants to eat something better than instantaneous noodles. That may be why the art got worse.
What made this story great is gone. It can come back, but I doubt it will.
In regards to the childhood elf friend :
The explosion teleported her and for some reason she is actually a genius at magic. She found a job as a bodyguard for a royal princess. Everyone think it's a boy, Including Rudeus. She wants the D, but unfortunately for her Rudeus seems is crazily committed to Roxy (I don't know if it is purely comical or if it will actually take shape in the main story.)
I remember when I loved this too... At least it actually gave me feelings, not like 99% of the isekai trash we see every day.
@MXCL@thirty7timeslucky@feliciasneck@Zenith_Tempest@rebu MXCL, the author just does a good job at not being super lazy with writing on the sexualizations and puts in more work (cheating, rape, sexualization of underage girls , molestation. slaves) than most other Insekais. But at the end of the day that doesn't change the fact that these sexualizations in Mushoku Tensei is just wish fulfillment and just catering to people kinky fetishes (
relationships with lolis, multiple wifes, cheating with hot women/girls etc)
. As I said before, nothing wrong with that being in series but it's not some masterful writing as people pretend otherwise on this specific thing.
feliciasneck, the anime is taking off and most people aren't really going to be turned off because the casual audience aren't thinking much about or ignoring the controversial aspects of Mushoku Tensei (cheating, rape, sexualization of underage girls , molestation, slaves and so on). It's also getting glowing approval from the big anime youtubers/social media as the isekia we been waiting for (gigguk for example). As long Mushoku Tensei is not explicit on it's themes of sexualization/pedophilia (I would argue it is explicit already), the majority of people will be fine seeing a overage man in boys body lusting and getting it on with underage girls and somehow see it as a serious redeeming and relatable story with great animation (it does look good visual though). It's alright that people like the show but the flaws should be recognize if your putting Mushoku Tenseon on a pedestal which most people are.
thirty7timeslucky, that's the really the only way to enjoy it. You gotta turn off your brain and not read to much into it and it's implications. It just watching the fanbase and the casual fans ironically proclaiming this as this amazing, serious, and realistic story telling has shown people really aren't thinking about.
@RandomnessOfTheMathWorld
Thank you for the detailed answer.
I guess my fears were more than warranted. I'll check back in another year or two if its still going.
@yldDavid
Here's a rumor that I heard: The anime version is planning on adapting the story from start to finish, and because the source material is the LN (the manga is adapting from the LN), it can actually mean that at some point the anime will catch up with the manga, and might actually finish sooner than the manga (assuming the second season doesn't take forever to make, like how they do the Kaguya).
Here's hoping the anime adaptation will skip (or at least shorten) the
The redhead leave him and the manga turn into a glorified romcom, complete with the school arc. I missed the day when this manga is about the epic story of crossing the entire world just to get home, the lore is insane and the world-building is just crazy.
. But oh well, what can you do, maybe the manga will pick up the pace after the S1 anime is finished
@musicfreak12 I at least hope it will raise isekai trash to something somewhat acceptable. Isekai has reached the bottom, but it keeps digging. To hell and beyond.
@RandomnessOfTheMathWorld
I don't think it will, the manga is shit since "then" and it's already a year ago since "that" happened and nothing changes.
The anime though..... I actually put a lot of hope in it, its really good. And because a big wig studio is backing that up, I'm sure they'll do anything in their power to make sure that it's good, even if that mean diverging a bit from the manga.
