OK, everyone! We will now begin to accept submissions for our third music tournament!
This time, the theme will be anime opening songs: full version. This includes vocal songs or non-vocal tracks that play in the opening sequence of an anime. You will submit the full version of these songs. This means TV-sized versions are not acceptable, unless that is the only version available. No parodies or covers will be accepted, either. It has to be the official version the from the band that sang the song. In some rare cases, a song that was used for both opening and ending will still be accepted. Opening songs from cartoons from other countries not from Japan are also accepted. Please submit no more than 4.
Unlike the 2.5 tournament, these will not be judged on visuals. So simply pick whatever songs you think are the best that you've heard. You are free to reuse the songs that you've submitted in the 2.5 tournament as well. Simply put, 2.5 tournament has no relevance to this one.
Now, there's something important I'd like to say. I didn't want to put in this rule in the first two tournaments, because we didn't have as many people participating. But after the 2.5 tournament, I think this is now necessary.
I've seen many people who only posted their submissions and then simply disappeared. And I don't mean the ones who showed up to vote a few rounds. I mean they simply never ever voted. This is very disrespectful and unfair for the others who would like to participate but can't because we have ran out of spots. I would like to make these tournaments as exciting and entertaining as possible, so the more people we have voting, the more fun it will be. You know how in college, if you sign up for a class but don't show up on the first day, you'll get dropped? I will now apply the same rule here. If you submit anything, but don't vote on the first day, all of your submissions will automatically be dropped and replaced by someone else's.
I am not saying that you have to vote everyday, because I know sometimes life gets busy or you don't see any song you are interested in. But please at least vote on the first day or as often as you can if you are going to submit something. Otherwise, just leave your spots for someone else who are more interested.
The only one who is exempt from this is the haiku master who's in charge of tie-breaker.
I know most of you guys have been saving the big guns for this one, right? Heheheh.
But thanks to 2.5, I know which songs I should choose to win this one.
If you think there's a rare gem that people deserve to know, don't hesitate to submit it. These tournaments can be very hard to predict, so don't discount any underdog. If you change your mind, please let me know and edit your post before I finalized all the submissions.
Now, let's see what you guys have! Show me your best!
Have some of these, while you guys are waiting.
