are visuals supposed to be a factor on how we vote? say there's a TV version, 90 second youtube video of an ending as it's shown in an anime—if that entry is up against a ~4 minute long real-life music video, would we just vote based on our overall enjoyment of each?

if so, then that's all well and good. i'm just wondering if there will be any additional measures taken to stress continuities in the submission mediums and by extension voting. for example, initially matching up 'full music vids vs. full music vids' and '90 sec animated endings vs 90 sec animated endings.'

if voting is based solely on audio then none of this is a concern of course. but if visuals are a factor then it would be good to know for posterity's sake, since choosing the right video for each submission will be just as important as the songs themselves, and we'll have to consider the various video options available (likeTopic channels, official music vids, animation, etc.)

i think so, yeah. i'm fine either way, it's just that if it allows both then there will be inconsistent submissions, some anime mv and some full songs. it's kind of weird having one match up against the other

I always question myself why I want to listen the same structure all over again, I guess it's commercial music for a reason. As a matter fact, my selection (all full version):

"Visual media is irrelevant. The full song most likely won't have any visual support. It's up to you, the submitter, to find the link with the best quality of the song. But then again, many of those songs are officially posted on Youtube nowadays."
So there you have the answer, no matter how good are the visuals they won't matter for the tournament. Just choose the best quality full version ending you can find.

the conclusion from this answer though is that while we're apparently supposed to vote based solely on audio, the actual youtube videos we'll be using to listen to the songs will have varying levels of video—and TV cuts especially rely on their accompanying animations (there's already at least one i've seen submitted.)

i guess the easiest way around it would be making the rules say "vote only on audio." otherwise, unless the submitted videos are stripped down to .mp3 files and we're provided alternative links to listen to them, the visuals will impact voter choice, particularly on any TV cut submissions
