If the match itself have one with full version then everybody else should be full version too, right?
They should. But again, if they prefer to use the short version for whatever reason, I won't stop them.

are visuals supposed to be a factor on how we vote? say there's a TV version, 90 second youtube video of an ending as it's shown in an anime—if that entry is up against a ~4 minute long real-life music video, would we just vote based on our overall enjoyment of each?

if so, then that's all well and good. i'm just wondering if there will be any additional measures taken to stress continuities in the submission mediums and by extension voting. for example, initially matching up 'full music vids vs. full music vids' and '90 sec animated endings vs 90 sec animated endings.'

if voting is based solely on audio then none of this is a concern of course. but if visuals are a factor then it would be good to know for posterity's sake, since choosing the right video for each submission will be just as important as the songs themselves, and we'll have to consider the various video options available (likeTopic channels, official music vids, animation, etc.)
Visuals are not supposed to be a factor at all. That's why I personally recommend the full version. However, if someone thinks "the ED animation stuck so well with me when I watched it, rather vote for that", and they might or might not say it out loud, I can't do anything about that. Just vote for the best songs, everyone.

nah bro you need to make it fair, searching for full version should be easy enough like they can post the anime ed here but in the matches itself it's either full vs full or anime cuts vs anime cuts, no mixing.

not gonna lie adding visuals does add a significant value to the song thats why some scenes in media hit way harder with the right track perfect example

What's this? And please edit your first post.
I'm confused. You mean we need to put our entries in one post?

And, American Pop is a Ralph Bakshi film. You said non Japanese movies were allowed, correct?

Edit: Alright, I put all six in my original post; I guess that does make it less confusing.

Here's the imdb page

No... But thanks for fixing it, anyway. I also didn't know which entry you switched out.

Ah, I see. Sorry, I didn't know that was an actual movie.
Can we change the entries even after we have submitted?
Yes, you have until the deadline. But please inform me what changes you've made.

I don't know why some people give themselves a handicap by using the cut version. I'm not sure if I should make it a rule to use the full song only. You guys really want this?

This is a mixed bag. To summarise:
  • Some people find it hard not to judge an ending song by taking into account too the visuals, either from the actual ending or a Music Video with or without a choreography. In fact, some songs rely heavily on the visuals to get the desired effect, to the point of having SFX. Related to this, there's the belief that "if we don't use visually supported songs those who can't take their eyes away from the video will be able to judge only the song" but as a matter fact they can simply find the TV ending by themselves and forget about the full song.
  • Many songs are worse in full version. Even if they use the same AABA structure (longer songs repeat it further) the second and even third A lyrics become crappy, have unsavoury transitions or worthless B parts. All these reasons influence when you want to compete with only TV versions and full songs ones, some of them due ignorance of the full song and I for instance I selected those six taking into account I was not using the TV version. Example: I love the Catalan version of the first ending of Dragonball, but the full version merely repeats the lyrics and just does a small variation with the transition, so it is a let-down.
  • Many people (not only new generations BUT...) have a very limited capacity of concentration and switch songs even before they ended, so from 90 seconds to 240 seconds the audience count falls. Same goes for the lyrics, it's not the same memorising/learning the meaning of a few verses than from an entire song. I could continue on the same line but you get the gist.

Ah, I see. The post where I said changed my sixth entry was the same post where I originally put it. I guess you thought it was a different post.
