@Madcat6204 I suspect the reason why her shape shifting abilities are connected to her singing ability is to counter with abilities that can disrupt her abilities. I bet there are people who can see thru her disguise if they are focused enough, like seeing in UV or have night vision. Her voice must be design to counter that and force the individual to see everything making it difficult to process everything. It's already pretty hard to multitask, just think if we also have to multitask on what we see.

I do not think that her shape-shifting abilities got weaker.
I think the issue is this:
When she'd return from an extraordinary form (e.g. like dispersed fog) back into a humanoid form then she would restore her vocal cords back to their original state during that as well.
The reason for that would probably be that she returns to the form "her memory remembers her body to be" and that memory is the "natural form" of her body a.k.a. with her natural vocal cords before her operation.
So if she used her ability like before she would undo the effects of the operation.
Hence she "cannot" do such extreme transformations anymore in order to avoid that.
