so you mean the status quo will remain the same for tens of chapters to comes? just constant 'dont fall in love with me uwu' over and over and over?
aight imma drop this shit then, thanks man. 🙏
As of volume 3 yes, there has been no progress. Things can of course change but at the very least, with the manga version, you won't see any progress for the next 10-20 chapters (depending on how slow paced the adaptation is).
They've gotten close in the novel, don't get me wrong, and the mom very obviously loves him, but the she really refuses to cave in for no reason at all.
What really soured it for me was the love triangle introduced in volume 3. If they don't drop it soon this really will go down the drain, which is a shame.
aw man... With the MC being so upfront about his feelings I really hoped for some development.. but, since it's the manga adaptation I can still have some hope, besides, it's still entertaining even if there's not much development of the characters don't change. The only thing I'm worried about is the love triangle, hope you or someone else can update us on it with time.
@Alice_is_lost if you want to know about it in more detail (more spoilers this time)
The love triangle is with the daughter. Because of course it is. At first she says she's competing with the mom so she can get the mom to act, but they're clearly hinting at her also having feelings for the protagonist, which is just the worst. She's now getting in the way, trying to cling to the protagonist in front of the mom and stuff so she can get her jealous.
It could actually make sense as a strategy to make the mom actually take action but for her to have feelings would just be unnecessary drama and hurting a character for no reason, pain peko ;-;
Oh well, I'll stick to what I said before and hope they handle it somewhat different or at least in a fun way in the manga adaptation.
finishing reading volume 3 and in addition volume 4, is all a plan from the daughter, the clingy part dont go past chapter 1 or 2 anyway, the rival part was because she though it was all too easy for ayako to not have one which make her be too carefree with all the confession stuff, so she offered herself as one, yes she did like him when they were younger and wanted to marry him, but she got rejected pretty much instantly when she mentioned it back when she was 6 because he made it clear he wanted to marry her mom back in the day, which she pretty much accepted and ended up calling him "future dad" they made a promise too with a drawing and all that ayako misunderstood too back then and after she overhear about a promise when they were at the inn, miu still have that drawing she made, and all this pretty much get solved in that same volume, but with some misunderstanding in volume 4 because of how volume 3 ended lol, just waiting for volume 5 now and further spoilers for end of volume 3 and 4,
after ayako try to tell miu that she is going to reject takumi for miu happines, she end up confessing that is in love with takumi to her alot of times, at the end of the volume ayako kiss takumi, which turn into a misunderstanding for volume 4 cuz she thought that was enough to be considered a confession and thought they were dating, but they were not, volume 4 go around that, she go to back to her parents house for obon and to clear her mind too, until she finally confess properly when she is back and start going out, but it turn out that ayako is going to be away to tokyo because of work for 3 months, but there wont be long distance relationship cuz takumi is going with her and live together for those months, now to wait for volume 5
Takumi's mom is awesome. No jokes, no teasing. Also, no autistic screeching.
"Of course, your feelings are important. If you don't feel the same, by all means reject him flatly. But if you're not opposed to it, please take care of my son".
Hell. Fucking. Yeah.
And gotta love Ayako and here go-get attituted. A bit misplaced, maybe, but still 😂
This is me going in blind but her saying "I'll show him what I'm really like" is going to result in you realizing he likes you for who you are and not some idealized version of yourself.
This is why i cant stick with romcoms. The author will invent the dumbest reasons to keep the two characters from starting a relationship. Which makes them more annoying than anything
