Glad the MC didn't get F'D, he has influence with the higher ups(he is a corporate dog). He made progress with his daughter, seeing some part of the story why she resents him.
The dad could have tried harder with her when the mom died, but he was working expecting her to move on.

My honest opinion, this whole problem is just due to neglecting your family is a whole huge thing. Ain't gonna cap the dad tried his best but however his daughter thought she just cares of work, while the huge deal is to have a decent life for both parties.
