Right that's why Japan has one of the highest suicide rate and is the land of the the Hikikomoris, litterally people who were so suffocated by society they became hermits. Every teenager has problems, it's the most difficult period of a child's life, be it in Japan, America, China or Europe.

I will say that when the dad got caught he was trying to do the right thing but that meltdown screwed him over tho definitely not the time to rage and definitely not make excuses for being with underage girl.

Both these characters are using each other to take off the mask of expectations of people. He lost his wife and his daughter completely shut him out and the other girls being abused so both wanted someone to console them and release.

In the end no matter the pressurer the dad was wrong for it and should have figured out a healthy way to resolve things.

I think somethings off with that chick she calls him a dog and thinks it's out of sympathy but I think she might see him as a toy to use for her amusement. She might of even set things up to ruin his life and off her mother and use him as a fall guy.

Socially hes completely ruined himself to his daughter and work I can only see this getting worse from here.

@sirflimflam I don't think we disagree. Like I said, she's allowed to be selfish here, given her age and her circumstances, and I'm sure the fact she only just rekindled her friendship with her friend only to feel like her dad's swooping in and fucking said friend's brains out behind her back to her is like some weird kind of NTR, but that doesn't mean that as a reader I can't feel frustration with just how selfish and lacking in self awareness she is being.

Hell, I could take it a step further and claim that if she hadn't been such a shitty daughter, locking herself away and forcing her father to go in full no-emotions-allowed robot mode just to support her and somehow make it as an adult and father, her father might not have even been in a position where the friend would have taken pity, or he would have been receptive to said pity.

Of course the above isn't something I can seriously hold as an opinion since it would require me to disregard the emotions Miya is feeling, making me a hypocrite for judging her for dismissing the feelings her father has, but I do believe it's entirely fair to criticize her actions here.

what spoiled brat, I get it you can get mad if your dad is with someone your age, but at least he fucking try, he could just fuck off and don't support you.

@Itsn tbh I don't completely trust the guy only way he can redeem himself now is if that guy turns out to be a scumbag and dad has to save her.

Wow I didn't expect the comments to be so split between the father and the daughter
They're both obviously partially in the wrong...but the dad more so.
when it comes to "JUST LET ME DATE THIS 16 YEAR OLD" versus "Why the fuck are you dating my friend dad", it's pretty clear which one is worse.

@Carmichael suicide in japan suicide mostly in their 20s to 40s. So yes you can blame her, but i get what youre saying, she is teenager who has unstable emotion and its even more of the reason to show her whats right and whats wrong.

Dad made several errors these past three chapters.
- Call Honma Kisaragi-san by mistake.
- Let Honma assume Kisaragi is something like a girlfriend.
- Let Honma talk him into going to the cafe. This is the main one. Even if his daughter didn't come by, Honma and Kisaragi meeting could have ended very poorly.
- Saying "Can't I flirt a little?" This is a poor choice of words. His breakdown itself, while socially risky, could provide some much needed relief. If only he said something other than this.

Honma is just like "I just walked into something I shouldn't have, haven't I?"

Like as if it wasn't awkward enough...

Good chapter, very tense and everyone feels like they're in character and justified in their views, which makes this all the better to read.

@Kuroageha

You mean the dad who went on escapades with Kii-chan several times, full well knowing that she was into him and would try to escalate things? The guy who went as far as to let her get naked in front of him? The guy who never had a mature conversation with anyone about this, and just kept complaining and wallowing in self-misery, never trying to address the multiple glaring issues with such a relationship?

He never tried to deescalate thing with Kii-chan, always going along with her suggestions because he wanted to spice up his life and feel loved. The only time he put up resistance was when Kii-chan visited his house, and even then, he just mumbled something vague about things being inconvenient.

So yes, Dad is far from innocent.

@Scytale agree the dads not innocent biggest issue is he wants play even ti kiichan the responsible adult whild still indulging in that relationship. Atleast give him credit in the end he tried cutting off that relationship and tried rebuilding his life the right way but by a freak accident somehow got dragged back in. So even tho he shouldn't of let there relationship go as far as it did he never crossed the line and tried doing the right thing. Even tho it's clear he wasn't happy to cut off the relationships as we see with his rant to Miyo.

Miyo definitely did put him in that situation where he was looking for some type of comfort and abused the fact that he was her dad and had to be a responsible adult. In the end of the day that dads human too and while she has the luxury to blame everything on him while being supported by him.

Still the dads the adult and should of figured out a better way to vent his problems.

Because she an ungrateful thot. After what she did to him she has no right to criticize him
