I kinda understand and can even half justify some of Koto's actions/reactions but calling Miya isn't one of them, whatever comes from it will define if Koto is just plain broken or if she's really as dumbfounded as we all are.

Also with Koto's dad absent from the picture, I can see why her mom has become overbearing and a bit unpredictable. She is desperate to keep what family she has left, but I truly believe she does love Koto.

My mother was also kind of similar to her growing up so I can understand it. Despite my moms shortcomings she does love me very much.

Also I hope Miya accepted just to put her in her place.

I think you're dead on the money there, except for the symbolism of the shower. I think that, especially in relation to what came next, was more symbolic of her renewing herself after the ordeal, and also to juxtapose her innocence with the demanding and desperate mother.

After reading everyone's opinions in the comments these past few chapters I have to first congratulate the mangaka as there is a very big divide on everyone's morals and ethics. Some like the MC and some like the FMC and some like the others. This is just a testament of the stories depth and how morally grey it is. In my opinion everyone is kind of a piece of shit in their own right even if their actions may be justified, but that is just what makes these characters human and relatable. Again morally grey stories are amzing and I love reading the differing opinions in the comments.
