Damn, more this manga gets new chapters, more it feels like Raoul from Fukushuu o Koinegau Saikyou. difference is that MC’s slow-life arc starts from this chapter, but it’s still wrapped in sad story
Tarsem being such a two-bit loser crashed my expectations, but it's possible Valburga didn't rejuvenate herself but someone else did it to her. She might also have had nothing to do with the murder of Blood Hound's wife. This could have been a coup to both get rid of Brad and Val, by turning Val into an enemy of a state and Val into a harmless child. Alas, Tarsem's behavior before his death suggests otherwise.Imagine your whole life opp just forget all their memory and becoming so weak that it's technically a different person with similar faces, they are just right up front within reach, but you cant kill them.
This story either gonna hurt so much, oozing of the tension, or just straight up dumbed down to "They are not the same, so i will love them" switch without buildup.
I hope they gonna go the hurting way cuz that story setup is so over the top that it will be wasted potential by much if the author go to the oozing tension route or dumbed it down.
The professorWho read the novels or Raws, gimme a bit of spoiler..
The professorwife died, after that his mind shut off and everyone in the institute left, the guy with the bad character is the only trust disciple left and he is pissed because he is taking of everything alone, he is annoyed at outsiders because many wanted to get the professor research.
The raws are very limited but MC knows he can't use his help, both come up with a way to bring him out the stupor but abandon it istantly because it would be too cruel, to create a illusion of his wife, but it would last moments and it would be like if she died a second time.
They find a catalyst to bring back the bitch memories anyway, but is useless because it only gives back the shown age memories (4 years old).
That is good theory, but assuming she is just used as a tool, then the whole revenge plot might become inflated or dropped, but most likely there will be a shift of goal for him when his entire purpose of life (at that moment) shattered because a failed expectation. There is a lot for him to get his revenge on, but the focus for him for now seems to be Val's life. But whether the author decides to make her guilty or not is a different matter. If she isn't, the whole revenge theme disappears that moment. If she is, this will be some sort of perdition and redemption story, assuming she will recover those memories. If she doesn't, this will simply be a quiet story of Brad's suffering.
Val being guilty is pretty much the only way I could see any real depth to appear in this story. Though it's not especially pleasant depth. Of course her memories never returning and Brad thus never knowing if she is involved or not is another way, but it's pretty ambiguous.I would love to see how he will handle the truth if she could recover her memory and the author going to the redemption arc, while also accounting the time he spent with her to lower the tension to allow him rational decision capability.
