So... I actually hope that she did the age reversal herself, scared of her own punishment. Because the normal for this type of manga is that she had no hand on anything and it was a third player that turn her young just to use her as a scapegoat

Pretty sure that the whole story will be a "letting go" type of story, with a sprinkle of "single dad" on it, to make it spicy... and who knows, a bit of rabbit for that sweet twist ending?... yeah i can actually see it:

"can´t believe that my psycho former boss turned young child could be so cute?!"

Mostly right, but it’s not that Hanabi is too depressed to say no. She’s being blackmailed and coerced. One of her simps got mad because he was suspended for helping her, and now he’s demanding a ridiculous amount of money as compensation for the stain on his school record. He has a video she shared with him of the MC pissing himself when he was little and is threatening to release it on the web. Since Hanabi doesn’t have the money, he told her to pay with her body. He not only raped Hanabi, but he's also coercing her into prostituting herself in a public park restroom. So yeah, the author went full stupid with the writing.
Damn, so glad I dropped it after 10 chapters.

So… has anyone read the WN or the first volume of the novel that was released on January 15th, a day after the first chapter of the manga, and knows if there’s any dark turn in the story?

I’m asking because I don’t trust this author at all after he butchered the story of Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta. Although, to be fair, he only butchered it in the second volume of the novel, which is what the manga is covering right now.

So even if the first volume is fine, there’s still a chance he goes bananas in the second volume. Anyway, let me know.

Thanks for the chapter!
The author is a woman, and she also wrote this extremely wholesome story.

Ah yeah I see. Yeah that’s pretty fucking bad lmao. Yeah my expectations for this series just got lowered by a bunch if that’s the level of writing from this author

I checked the raws on ncode, is not many chapters, I think the author got the project greenlighted for a serialization fast and used that site to promote it.

MC is able to find a catalyst to make her get her memories back, but it only restore the age she shows, so 4 years old original villaines memories, possibly if she ages to the same level of when the spell she used she would gain all her memories or MC should use the catalyst again, but that is many years and there is no way MC would be able to do it, he already have problems after a coupel hours around her, staying for 20 years would no doubt make her his daughter in his mind.
He keeps getting chased from the WPO.
Not enough to say if it turns into slop or stays average.

I stay of the opinion that the bitch used the magic at the last minute as she knew MC would kill her otherway, could have gambled on the memories being sealed, not erased, the problem is that we don't know her, was she truly evil or her subordinates acted on their own?She wanted MC on a leash, use her to destroy enemies (that makes little sense as her organization is already at the top) or just to know where he is for his danger level?
Is not impossible this is another toxic love plot and she made so the carriage would crash on MC family, planning to "support" him for his loss after, but the wife surviving made him go in hiding, after seeing him kill everyone in her building she realized how she messed up.
Is it ever hinted she might just be innocent? Though that would be pretty cliiche.
Would be neat if she was pretty evil and just used this as a straight f u to prolong her life.

I didn’t know the author was a woman. I tried looking for a reliable source to confirm it, but the only confirmations I found were on a few foreign sites. Either way, I went back and fixed my text so it no longer refers to the author as a man.

As for Fukushuu wo Koinegau Saikyou Yuusha wa, I don’t have any issues with that story because it’s clear from the start that it’s meant to be a dark fantasy. But with Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta, the difference between the first and second novel volumes is massive. It honestly feels like a completely different story.

hmm i don't know about this, i have no idea at wich direction this will go, it might go with the "actually she was innocent" wich i find hard to believe since she was the leader, maybe they will say that she didn't have that much power in the organization so she used ancient magic as a way to escape, they might do the simple father and daughter route where both heal each other or go with the weird route where she grows up at the end and well... i already been though too much so i guess that i will give this the benefit of the doubt for a few chapters

I wonder how deep the author will take this philosophical question. Then again, it's only bordering seinen so probably not too deep.

I, too, am of the opinion that if she remembers she pulled this shit that she needs to suffer. Endlessly.

She's leader of the organization. She's responsible for its actions. Either 1) She was directing/agreeing with the murder of the wife; 2) She knew, and a little bad about it, but didn't stop it. (guilty); 3) Didn't know. Members of organization were running wild and she didn't know. (Incompetent. Essentially manslaughter.) First two deserves death for her guilt. Option three is iffier, but still probably warrants death for incompetence & manslaughter.

If she didn't know, then way chan-ify herself? As leader she should at least try to find out why he's murdering everyone. If she knows that's he's a fairly decent guy, which she would since she was leader (and which we know because he just demonstrated it by outing himself in order to save a guy).
  • If she found out about murder of wife but only after the fact, or was unable to stop it ahead of time, then she needs to submit herself to him and dogeza apologize. Which she doesn't do, so that's not the case.
  • If she's too terrorized and does this as desperate attempt to escape murder. But she's leading an organization which murders people. Then she's a coward murderer -- willing to murder, but terrified of being murdered. Unfit to lead. Terminate her.
  • Conclusion: If she voluntarily chanified herself, then she deserves death.

What if someone else chanified her? Then she's cleared a little bit, at least she's not voluntarily hiding. But it still leaves all the prior reasoning which leaves her guilty (or, at minimum, criminally incompetent).

So where's author going with this? Nowhere good (especially with that cover art).
  • Almost certainly, one way or another, she's going to be absolved.
  • There's a sort of NTR flavor to this, where the author is going to have the MC raise (and love?) the person who wronged him in the worst possible way.

There's also some dumb/crazy stuff in here:
  • Wants to hide his identity, then casually drops his SS mage adventure card.
  • Immediately gets an assassination quest (at what 10pm at night?), but the guy is totally bad, trust us on this!
  • Has no problem taking on a dubious assassination quest (making him at best morally neutral). Despite the earlier event (saving his co-worker suggesting a fundamentally good nature). (Okay, you could argue that was more 'save my friend' rather than 'good'.)
  • Assassination quest is in order pay an absurd bribe. He could have killed/threated the guy instead -- the very thing he later does.
  • And what the heck is up with exhuming his daughter's body? Ewww. Gonna carry it with him? If he was worried about being defiled, he could have just buried her in some remote place instead. (Out in the country or in some remote village.)

From the chapters I jumped there was nothing clear, the raws had around a volume content, maybe less, it was on purpose as they just wanted to get ncode readers to follow the serie.

I don't believe she is innocent, MC notes how she was researching ancient magic, and doing that and using it are heavy crimes, she using incomplete magic on herself the same night MC launches a raid because she doesn't want to get old make little sense because she is not even thirty, still in her 20s, she did it gambling on MC not killing a kid, even if it was herself, could be a Xanathos gambit and she did it knowing MC would search a way to rstore her memories and kill her then but it would take time and could make him unable to do it the more they are together, gambit because it would depend on MC trauma, his rage and if he couldn't just give her to someone to take care when searching for a method.

I thought that how there is magic to control people is not impossible she was controlled from some big bad, after all taking the leader of the WPO would mean getting it all, the search for MC wasn't her intention but the hidden villain that wanted a powerful weapon and possible obstacle, when MC broke in the baddie made her use forbidden ancient magic to seal her own memories ad if MC had got to her he could have maybe discovered the mental control.
Of course, this is all just my theory about it, but is literally the only way to save her life as StomSen explained she deserves death for her actions or inactions, unless it wasn't her directing the WPO.

The inevitably being that she regains her memory and regrets her actions will be a nice payoff I will say for this series but i do hope they are able to surprise me a bit more along the way.

There are actually a fair few interesting potentials for this series however. If the leader was truly crafty enough to cast ancient magic on herself that would certainly be one thing but angering the strongest mage for no reason seems like a waste unless she is playing 4D chess by forcing homeboy to act out of anger and to her will while being protected as a child. Maybe there's a chance the wife was doing something too really the who knows.

So far this seems like an interesting story adapted from a novel but the adaptation's pacing really fucking sucks. No build up, no background, just dude that's already having a shit time has an even shittier time then has to travel around with a kid he wants to kill. I'm not invested at all even though I really want to be. I'll just go find the novel if it actually does exist

Killed his wife and then use forbidden magic to reverse her life-span to toy him by resembling as his dead daughter in order to escape death from her actions? Nah fuck that MC should continue with his suicidal scorched earth plan.
It seems more likely that the underling went rogue for the organization on the orders of someone above him but below her then someone de-aged the leader so she couldn't stop the incoming rampage or in order to stop the incoming rampage. I'd assume it was under orders of someone who is against the organization. If it wasn't then they are just stupid. They would have gotten more out of it if they simply abducted his wife.

Leadership always has a blindspot. It's normally the backers who do this kind of thing. Though to be frank I'd not be surprised if a rebel organization did it so they can weaken the peace organization. Everyone knew he was on the run. Anyone against the peace organization would simply know that to put them against each other all they would need to do is set them against one another.

This is rage inducing, but interesting. I think (hope) there’s more to the story than it seems, but even if it isn’t, it could be a good story about forgiveness and redemption. Although if this mangaka doesn’t have the skill for it…

…. Sorry, I guess I should be saying “fuck all that, kill them all, raaargh!”
