He should have given her a different name to better separate Val (adult) from Val (child) mentally, and thus be better at treating the child properly in public instead of overreacting. Easy to assume she might be a hidden child and him related to said missing person, and report him. Especially since the org knows she's currently a child.

Reminds me of a manga where an exorcist adopts a demon child. It's definitely building up to a climax where Brad makes a decision to kill her or not, so I'm expecting a good portion of the series to be spent on both building a relationship between him and Val and stoking his hatred and lust for vengeance. I really hope the climax explodes in a dramatic way.

I still believe there's a misunderstanding here. IDK why I have this feeling, the one behind the arson incident is probably the idiot adventurers that MC helped in chapter 1.
