As someone who worked at a shitty arcade, almost all of these machines would barely work anymore. Arcade cabinets degrade faster than a Banana covered with ethylene gas
Dude that owns them probably maintains them. There are some retro game bars in my area that have working arcade games and that is how they keep them playing. Or they call in someone that specializes in fixing them up. Niche market, but a reliable one I imagine.

That requires lots of money tho, and CRT TV's have a hard lifespan of 10 years unlike LCD's

Does it really cost that much money? I live in Latin America (Caracas, the capital of Venezuela), and several shopping malls have stores where you can play these types of machines. I also lived in Peru (a Latin American country) for three years and saw these types of machines as well.

Maybe if you don't treat them well. My local mechanic has a CRT TV from the 80's or early 90's that still works and is on during his work hours as background noise in the office.
