I just don't understand why she kept going after the dude. Does he have money or something? Or is this typical front hole behavior where once he got a new girl the old one goes insane with jealousy.

Probably she gets pleasure from toying with men and feels superior when she can lure back her exes especially one with girlfriend

To be honest, I don't think Haru would cheat on her anyway and I think she knows that; she just hates this girl on principle.

My assumption was that normally, the sealing poison in the finger thing would be way worse if she hadn't changed it. But what this guy says makes more sense:

Yeah, that confused me, too. I can't tell what the "it" is referring to: the ex's "fate", or the ofuda she was holding, which is apparently the "wrong ofuda."

... But I don't know for what, exactly. For warding off spider-lady, I assume, but the dialogue makes it sound like the ofuda and the ex's cheating are somehow connected.

In any case, Ms. Spider prevented Ms. Ex from being trisected either by (1) holding herself back, (2) tampering with her fate some other way, or (3) tampering the ofuda which would have caused the fate if she'd left it alone.

I dunno. Chapter is great; this dialogue is confusing.

Specifically about the ofuda causing that fate if she hadn't tampered with it. Though she didn't really "tamper" with it, she destroyed it. But where would she have accidentally gotten an ofuda that slices people up? Perhaps this:

Honestly I wonder if she's bait for a trap set for our fmc or her father. Where she'd get the idea of using an ofuda to begin with, much less it being the wrong one?

Very good theory. Someone gave her a destructive ofuda instead of a protective one. Perhaps intending to take out the spider monster, sacrificing the ex-gf to do so. It may have killed them both.

Or maybe the translation is off and tampered wasn't the right word. Maybe should have been something meaning "I was going to kill you but decided not to, thus changing your fate".

Hopefully we'll get some answers if the author continues this plotline.

Edit: looking again, she destroys the ofuda in the illusion, she doesn't "tamper" with it before that. So that doesn't make much sense to be what she's talking about. I think the "it" she was talking about may really have just meant her fate.

It really begs the question of why she even confessed to lying about the scandal on Haru if she wasn't even going to change her ways. Maybe she was still fueled by the fear to make some amends before deciding to cut off the thing that felt like was taking control of her life. I think I can understand that much, but why still even go after the guy the eldritch demon specifically warned her to never approach again?

What was it that sparked this whole thing again? That Haru rejected her advances, who was also likely already seeing someone else at the time, yet she smeared his reputation to HR anyway? Sheesh, just what exactly gets this one off to, anyway? Claiming an unattainable catch?

no like I think she showed her that if she had not intervened the girl would've been cut into multiple pieces or some thing. Like not by the FMC but by someone/something else that would've done it if FMC hadn't intervened in her life by doing the poison stuff
