Biggest reason is the art change in that panel, which is usually used in darker themes, or when something disturbing is happening, which automatically makes someone assume the worst, since there also isn't much known of the character besides his "interest" in her, after thinking she's one of "his people"

I can't speak for everyone here but a lot of folks been down some paths that makes them think this guy wants nothing more than to snatch girls from their partner.

Or at the very least swap car keys with haru. Either that or they flinch at the faintest hint of someone trying have a interest in someone that they know is in a relationship. It's a sickness.

Are we reading the same manga?
Its obvious this is a wholesome series and nothing bad will actually happen.
But there was already a previous subplot with a slut trying to steal my homegirl man from her.
Also, if this turns out to be a complete missunderstanding... Its still clear the author is trying to make us think badly to trick us.
