Apparently spiders and praying mantes have a practice of scrapping equally, being predators to each other. I'm not sure how heavy the beef is like "upon sight, we brawl" or "when I feel like fr" but google says they do indeed scrap.

I think the author was thinking of introducing a new "Snow Woman" character, but maybe pulled back on the idea. Maybe he thought the harlot side story had run its course and decided to pull back on that and concentrate on the MC/Waifu main story.

Personally, I think it is a good idea if that is the case. No reason to go too far from MC/Spider Waifu unless it is to develop some side likeable characters. Harlot is definitely not a likeable character.
