More generally, this series hasn't told much story; the author has repeatedly employed forgettable devices to delay resolution. In a year, ask those folk who now write of how exciting the story is to retell it, and they'll find that they don't really have much to say.

I feel sympathy for the princess's plight of being forced to marry, so I do want her to escape it; but I can't say the same for her outright winning in romance against Maura. I hate love triangles. If only there was another prominent non-antagonist male character in this she can pair up with. Whatever happened to male leads having at least one male best friend?
