If this is stereotypical asian dad all asians have my sympathy for holding back and not swinging on them for disrespecting their wives and family.

The man had from start to finish not only been rude to him, downplayed his lifestyle choices which he is succeeding in, fought any battle he could to compliment him, and then insulted his wife and asked him if he was just using her for pity.
The man is abusive as sin and if you consider this a healthy relationship that is far far from the truth.
My words are my own in the fact of retaliating. I personally would be far more angry than what he shows and saying that about you is one thing where you can defend yourself but having your own parents say that about someone you care about is something you should NEVER tolerate.
Violence is obviously the extreme however accepting and ignoring it or downplaying it continues the cycle of abuse. He needs a goddamn reality check.

The man you keep referring to is his father. If a parent saying that kind of stuff to help their child make a better decision is that insulting to you then, I can see we have very different ways we look at parents. So I don't want to argue over this on a harmless manga post. You do you, after all everyone has their own circumstances.

Most Asian family isn't that hard headed like in dramas and comics, they are still your family, they care more for your happiness than what other people may thinks.
