She lets her guard down with him because she's interested, but then the classic male misunderstanding comes in, which is "she's defenseless with me, she doesn't see me as a man." He will never understand her actions as flirting because of this misunderstanding which ends up making him not act since in his eyes she doesn't see him as a man

Put yourself in his shoes a little, her going to live there without worrying about whether she would suffer violence reinforces his point of view so there's no point in trying anything

People in these comments talking about "sexual assault" when part of her pseudo plan for even being there in the first place is to goad him into making a move on her (sexually or otherwise), are we even reading the same thing?

In other news, pretty sure Utena is trying to scare Nakamura off of the ML. That's the impression that I get from her actions at least.

In an average manga, an otaku under the bed would be a worse nightmare for a Japanese girl than a monster under the bed. It's pretty much only this specific gal/hottest girl falls for an otaku genre where the otaku aren't looked down on, discriminated, and even bullied, just for being an otaku. Though also in this genre such mistreatment may be present, as a hurdle for the MC. Or course otaku being the major consumer group for manga, rarely otaku are actually made to be the villains, so their treatment is being typically depicted as unjust, even if the otaku were mere side characters.
