Ok so this explains why she's 21 & in high school that thought would never get addressed. The grandma is drawn cute. How old is she supposed to be? She's drawn hunched over, so I assume she's a bit up there. But her skin looks super smooth, and her eyes are still sparkly.

Edit: Some people in this thread are saying this is an older man and now I'm unsure. Hanaki is a unisex, but somewhat male-leaning name. Which is weird because "Flower Tree" seems like a very feminine thing in my head, but I'm a total amateur at japanese. They also look fairly androgynous, idfk. Still pretty regardless.

While I don't think he couldn't do anything, I do think the subversion would be that he looks "creepy" because he's just haggard and tired from being brow beaten by a shitty school system he got stuck with. So less sinister and more jaded. I think at this point she doesn't really need some sort of profound advice or sage wisdom but just needs to see that other people are willing to treat her as an equal and not just a vapid piece of meat to lust after.

Her issues stem almost entirely (from what we've seen thus far) from a crippling lack of self confidence/worth which is why she's such a pushover when it comes to peer pressure. Positive reinforcement would go a long way and it doesn't even have to be piling on praise, just not treating her as lesser or a waste of time. Her brother already demonstrated this simply by reassuring her that despite what she thinks he still views her as part of the family.

But knowing the author the teacher will probably just be a creep and the brother will have to step in and save her again because the premise is "making her understand" and not "broken girl gets her life together".

I'm inclined to agree. Zyugoya's works are all pretty derivative (well the vampire one is actually pretty interesting so far) but people are more lenient when it's ultimately a feel good story that is 90% of the time super wholesome even with some drama.

Bonus points because Zyugoya also uses his manga as a vehicle to push his porn fanbox/socials so it's not like Egaki couldn't do the same.
