So i just happened to visit Mangadex.com which used to be some sort of Managdex Blog hosting service. now the website only displays a drawing of dex chan and nami (of namicomi) holding hands and facing eacht other. (see for your self) and the tab with the website on my browser says : NamiDex
So. what is going on ? until recently the website looked like this:
https://web.archive.org/web/20250325120506/https://mangadex.com/

the change seems to be have made between 22nd of june and 12th of july this year.

a user on reddit complained recently that the Mangadex icons on his browser (Safari IOS) changed to the blue namicomi icon.

are these coincidences or are there plans in motion to merge the two franchises? Namicomi + Mangadex -> NamiDex

From an FAQ that was posted following the DMCA:
  • Does NamiComi own MangaDex?

NamiComi has accepted to take management of the site and its domain; no transaction was performed.
  • Why is NamiComi managing MangaDex now?

The recent shutdown of various aggregators has driven an accelerated growth of MangaDex. While we have historically received low volumes of takedown requests, that number has increased to such a degree that we can no longer handle it ourselves. NamiComi has the necessary legal framework to move forward and ensure the long-term sustainability of MangaDex.
The two sites are sharing personnel, but there is no indication that they will be 'merged' in a traditional sense.

well, i'd say this looks like an indication. the blogs hosted on mangadex.com seem to have been removed/ closed too. recently staff never announced a thing before it actually happened / was rolled out.
call me paranoid but to me this points towards a merging to NamiDex

People were rambling about this since the first days of the DMCA and honestly one must be really gullible to believe it. But well, I guess that's why Reddit exists, to throw all kind of misinformation so they can repost it until it becomes their truth. Since I am at it, my conspiration theory is that Holo is the real owner of both sites and Plykiya was hired by the publishers behind the DMCA so he could try a coup d'état and replace this site for a femboy lingerie retailer site.

I don't know about NamiDex but according to @Bartolumiu on Reddit, that website is apparently "soon to be revealed" so I'm guessing they are doing something with it in the near future.

Nah, we just wanted to showcase a bit of yuri on the .com domain (which for some reason is not active rn, so I'm glad I downloaded the image) :meguu:

Interesting, Still love the site since a buncha the old stuff I read is still around, but I'm glad I found a new place to read just in case. If there's one thing I know about Manga sites like these, it's that they are run rampant with viruses and graphic ads, or begin to monetize stuff toward the end.
