reminds me of heterogenia linguistica (I think that was the name?). I'm enjoying this one and hoping there are plenty more chapters to come.
Omg this 100%. I'm sitting here like "why do you remember these things at all???" Plus, the fact that he tried ONE (1) word and then gave up all speaking for three chapters got to me and he hasn't thought to just leave this place with Myaa? Not what I'm saying. I'm asking why give him amnesia if it is going to functionally change nothing about the character or their approach to the new world?
It's like if you wrote a character to have no arms but gave them telekinesis that perfectly mimics the function of arms, which they never use for things other than what arms can do. It is flavourless fluff, a waste of an idea. Do something with it, or don't add it.

RuneCrypt was saying that this MC has amnesia but isn't brainless but I'm having some serious doubts for that claim XD
1) Obviously, it's perfectly fine to provide background/color information that does not advance the plot. 2) It homogenizes the character, thus making him "identifiable" to a larger audence. 3) The fact may come into play later. Maybe his memories would reveal some explanation of why he's in this situation - but the author is leaving that revelation for later. Not what I'm saying. Amnesia is not the same as "losing all knowledge, skills, etc." IDK how to make sense of your argument here unless you think that's the case. It's like if you wrote a character to have no arms but gave them telekinesis that perfectly mimics the function of arms, which they never use for things other than what arms can do. It feels a bit early to say that the amnesia serves no purpose. It’s entirely possible a deeper purpose for the amnesia will be uncovered later on in the story. Not what I'm saying. Maybe he's some kind of robot, that's why he's so strong and has no memories. What's the point of making him an amnesiac if he knows how to speak Japanese, write Japanese, knows about articulation, knows about English and some basic communication in it, knows English would be more universal than Japanese, knows about cultural concepts prevalent in Japan like Demon Lords...
Just make him a Japanese guy if you are incapable of imagining your mc from a perspective not based in Japan.
