Hitler is not the most evil person in history, Mao or Stalin or Pol Pot surely deserve greater prominence for their kill rate by number or percentage of population they leave Adolf far behind, you really have to read around the subject to grasp a better idea of who was funding or backing who, a lot of them are still quite important to this day the Bush family for example.
One particularly obvious reason he's so more notable is the dominant role of the numerous jewish writers and financiers of hollywood and them being more sensitive to him than others would be. History is written by the victors remember, caricatures and propaganda are the fundamentals.
You don't have to go down the full /pol/ route of indoctrination to recognise moments of humanity in otherwise unpleasant people.

Some years back I came up with a measurement system for the stupidity of an internet conversation that uses Hitlers as the unit because of Godwin's law. Even if Godwin's law doesn't actually occur in a particular instance, you compare how stupid the conversation/argument has become to a conversation that had gone full Godwin's law (that would be 1 Hitler). You can also tack on prefixes if you need to as it amps up in stupidity, like things have gone beyond the scope of just Hitlers, it could be kiloHitlers or megaHitlers. Beware of the dreaded gigaHitler and teraHitler conversations, they will actually lower your IQ just by reading them.
