maybe he needs his glasses, but taking them off and changing his hairstyle is his "disguise" to enjoy shojou manga, so when he is meeting the 3 girls he only sees a vague resemblance because his eyesight is not good enough to recognise people's faces when not wearing glasses. Dunno, only logical explanation to how freaking blind he is, now what could be the 3 girls' excuse, maybe just that they don't know Haruya at all in class and haven't noticed him, because otherwise his disguise kinda sucks, only works because no one in class is familiar with him.

I have actual face blindness and when I started eating at a particular McDonald's because it was close to work, it took me only a week to realize one of the cashiers was a classmate. She thought I had figured out where she worked and was stopping by in a hi-vis neon orange safety vest with my warehouse ID clipped to the front as some form of awkward flirtation. I no longer feel any shame or self-doubt about that week.
