Need a snipe taken down

Apologies if this is the incorrect sub-forum to be posting this on.

Raptor Scans has been doing Killing Bites translations since the anime started. We picked the series up where it had been sitting gathering dust for years, did all the chapters up to where the anime ended, and continue to release new chapters as we find time in our schedules to work on it. However, for some reason, entitled pricks feel like we aren't releasing fast enough. That brings us to today.

Reekris45 decided to upload a snipe of Chapter 37 not even a day after we released Chapter 36. By itself, this is a supreme dick move, but his release uses an extremely sub-par machine translation. Plus he seems utterly not repentant at all if you read the chapter's comments. There is nothing to stop him from doing this for future chapters, which is unacceptable.

Therefore, I humbly request this snipe and any future ones by Reekris45 to be taken down immediately. Else, we at Raptor Scans may reconsider how we handle future releases.

you're suggesting a precedent that the last group to release scans should be able to get all the scans released before them removed. how about somebody that starts releasing the chapters of "your" projects and then demands that yours be removed?

just beat them in quality, and don't let some shit troll drive you away. especially remember that you're doing scanlations for the community right? the efforts of hq scans and quality translations are appreciated no matter if theyre first, second, or twentieth, but its not like you get any special ownership rights or anything over a manga because your group took it up as a project. i agree that common courtesy should mean not taking up a project that somebody else is working on but that's just an unwritten social nicety, trolls don't respect those on purpose, just ignore them and hopefully they'll get bored ands move on soon enough, getting people to rage and quit is exactly what they want so don't give it to them.

There's no benifit to just "ignoring trolls".
"Troll"-scanlators that release extremely low-quality content aren't just of no consequence. Having a low-quality version released to snipe the high-quality releases means less attention for groups that actually try to put in the work for decent releases, and leads to low reader-retention, because readers are more likely to just drop something, if they feel the chapters are unreadable.

Luckily, this site actually values reader experience over all else, because honestly, readers are what makes this site. If scanlators don't value the readers, they shouldn't be allowed to use this site.

See - this means that, while there is no direct ownership of a series, it eliminates those that abuses the system.

Edit/ Before anyone says anything about disrespecting scanlators; of course there's no doubt the scanlators are important. But it's a balancing act, a give and take situation. Of course high quality scanlators should be rewarded for their efforts. That's why there's this excellent feature on this site called Delay, where groups can choose to delay releases for a certain amount of time, to encourage readers to check out the chapters first hand on the scanlators' own websites. They aren't allowed to withhold chapters indefinitely to forcefully direct traffic, but the delay is fair and square.

Producing low-quality content and stealing the limelight of actual high quality content, while not illegal, is definitely a supreme dick move - as ELH said above.
