Its a dick move but at the same time that anxiety and depression gets worse not doing anything. I work a seasonal job, its really tough to go back but right after im back its much better, im in better spirits and not as anxious. I know its not real life but giving someone that push and making them be outgoing can potentially really help, especially in her case as she used to be much more outgoing, you still are its sometimes just hard to remember it.

@ixsaz Yeah, that's not how mental illness works. There's a reason why no self-respecting therapist tries shock therapy, because while yeah sure it might work for a small number of people, but it's even more likely to cause issues to become even worse and/or destroy any progress the individual might have made. And Neeko isn't just bummed out because of a single failed interview, she's been shown to have very deep self-esteem issues and depression.

Worth noting though, I wasn't really saying that I'd be annoyed if this one thing totally snaps her out of the depression (although that would annoy me), I was more saying that you can't just show up to a job and be instantly good enough to handle holiday sales. You have to learn POS systems, register UIs, customer policies, etc.

EDIT: And now having said that, I remember that Japan has a miserable history with mental health issues, so for all I know this is totally what they think works.

I really hope this doesn't end up being the deus ex machina japan thinks this is, I despise authors that devalue the impacts of mental illness in personal well being and behavior, and it would be at the very least disappointing to see this manga go down that route, specially since it would reward neglectful behavior from the mother
