They insulted, berated, ruined his work career with pure spite, they thought their own opinion was superior and he was shitstain in their view, this is why I really don't like this MC, is the usual pure wimp.
For him what they did wasn't much, but if it was another hunter, someone that had no choice but doing that job it would have been life ruining, the guild unfortunately follows his words and gives the lightest possible punishment, doesn't fire or punish them legally.

It's kind of funny since his "go easy on them" DOES have desirable effects in a WAY! It puts them in a position where "they learn their lesson and become BETTER people then they were before......OR they double down, learn nothing and well GET WHAT THEY DESERVE!

The Receptionist is basically put in a "just quit so MC isn't mad at us for not firing you" and ends up getting HUMBLED, along with realizing "it could have been SO MUCH WORSE, after how she mouth off, taunted and messed with MC life, it's a DAMN GOOD THING HE ASKED TO GO EASY ON HER! Along with DOING the job she looked down on only cause "she listened to other people's opinions and never her own" she finally realizes what a KNOB she was, EARNING her atonement

As for the asshole douchebag, he got send somewhere where he "either rose up, or fall to the pits of hell......and h learned ABSOLETLY FUCKING NOTHING! Doing the SAME shit he did that LANDED him in this mess! "Trying to steal another man's WOMAN, without bothering to find out WHO's woman he was stealing!" Treating the Ex EXACTLY as she treated MC and was without REMORSE for it so she got to FEEL as MC felt when she did it....wasn't that great when YOUR on the wrong side of it, is it doll LOL! And of course SUFFER PUNISHMENT seeing as "the other woman wasn't even INTERESTED in him!" she just TOYED with him by LETTING him think he was WINNING HER OVER then revealing her TRUE FEELINGS only AFTER he ruined his marriage and life AND revealing her HUSBAND she WASN'T leaving for him "WAS THE FUCKING GUILDMASTER IN CHARGE OF THE NEW LOCATION!" who while NEITHER have LOVE for each other and it's a POLITICAL MARRIAGE! STILL has to PUNISH the fool and his older new CO-WORKER told him this when he got there "Keep your head down and you MIGHT make a COMEBACK" REMINDING him of this in a "Shame you didn't take my advice" manner! He loses his job, gets SUED for homewrecking, now has a DAMAGING Blackmark, is DIVORCED by his own HANDS and Ex is NEVER taking him back even HAD she not had her own character development and KARMA hitting her to CAUSE that to come about for HER atonement! And is now a DRUNK LOSER HOBO who STILL refuses to learn his lesson, which is he STILL blames OTHERS for his own DOWNFALL.

Frankly I agree as no way MC could PREDICT these outcomes, but you got to agree it feels like LIFE put them in a position to CHANGE OR DIE and while ONE atoned and is geninuely SORRY for her shitty actions, and the OTHER (EX) suffered ALOT from her own bad choices, behavior and actions to change herself! The last didn't, made the same mistake and this time there was no "go easy on em!" for him as that guildmaster "sure as hell wasn't going easy LOL!"

Not excusing anything, but based on the flashbacks with the ex she didn't really seem all THAT bad of a person...she was just super oblivious to EVERYTHING he did, but it seems he never bragged or talked about it, so of course she had no idea.

At least this chapter we see her reflecting and thinking she may have said something terrible to him...especially after they had been together for so long. Too bad they didn't just talk things through instead of her jumping to some other guy.

If you go back to chapter 1, the ex cheated on him, accepted the proposal of the cheating partner, still accepted a date, brought the cheating partner to the date, look on and smiled while the cheating partner took away MC’s livelihood, then laughed and said “have a nice life” as she left on the cheating partner’s arm.

She’s actual human garbage who only thought she maybe did something wrong when she realized the place her took her to was actually expensive.

And that's what I hate the most about this type of breakup/betrayal story. The story always quick to pin the blame on the woman without proper context or build up just for the sake of a shock value. Then they will some time try to rewind it and make her redeemable. That's but he relationship works. Just show how inexperience when it comes to relationship most of these so called "authors" are.
