If he's SSS-ranked why the hell did the people looked down on him?
well if the first few chapters didn't spell it out.

basically the whole political side of JP entirely looked down on adventurers in general.

regardless of rank or money. hence why the push to dissuade people from becoming adventurers. treating them like thugs and gangsters.

hence the receptionist was humbled upon seeing the MC penthouse suite, and how rich he is. it was an entire new world for her. also no she didn't hook up with the MC. rather apologize, became an adventurer, and taking the MC advice on crystals.

this is how the Ex was talked into dumping the MC. as she was talked by others to looked down on adventurers and have the same mindset like them.

oh boy did it fail in the end. cause someone else mentioned. How the political side manage to revert back before crystals were being used as an energy source. it fail spectacular for them.

as it made JP lag behind other nations. yes other nations are interested in the MC. like someone from England travel to met the MC.

I think the true magic of this story is that the government apparently figured out how to print infinite money without affecting inflation.
he was making like 20billion a month and there's no sign that was fucking up anything at all, so.
Japan nowadays imports around 40 billion yen worth of oil every month. If crystals were to become the country's energy and economic focus, it would not be surprising if the owner of the only SSS company in the country had revenues in the billions (although 20 billion yen would be somewhat exaggerated).

Another thing is that any significant problem with him would be dealt with directly at the ministerial-cabinet level; there's no way an anonymous regional manager could touch his account.

In any case, this is a manga you have to switch off your brain and just enjoy the nonsense of a millionaire playing suggar daddy wth a teenager for fun.

It's like hearing someone is an oil refinery worker, and assuming they mean the random union grunt mopping the floors, rather than the high paid specialist on an offshore oil rig. He doesn't promote himself, and works under a fake name, so they only knew he was an adventurer.

Because they have no idea that he was an SSS-ranked individual named Zero, they only know the codename but not his real name or even his face. Not even in the news was his real name or face revealed when it was announced that he was retiring.
Remember in the previous chapter, the NTR guy was entirely shocked that the same guy from where he stole his girlfriend was Zero all along.

According to spoilers from this chapter thread and previous chapter threads,
the reason why no one is seemingly batting an eye is because the Japanese ministry is somehow ultra conservative and traditionalist to the extent that they're trying to maintain a foothold in a new age that is moving on, with or without them. People that don't understand or know the adventurer lifestyle are just belittling the occupation as the path of desperate and incapable people who have nothing else going for them in life, and this is maintained by propaganda that trickled down to the guild receptionist who blacklisted MC and the clerk who deleted his account. This will allegedly be addressed later on in the story, but I'm confused how this story even lasted long enough in publication to get a manga adaptation.

"just go easy on them"
They insulted, berated, ruined his work career with pure spite, they thought their own opinion was superior and he was shitstain in their view, this is why I really don't like this MC, is the usual pure wimp.
For him what they did wasn't much, but if it was another hunter, someone that had no choice but doing that job it would have been life ruining, the guild unfortunately follows his words and gives the lightest possible punishment, doesn't fire or punish them legally.
I think it's more he didn't want them to completely ruin their lives, just receive an appropriately fitting punishment, since honestly he himself is using the fact they ruined his work career as his chance to finally retire as well, since he also wanted to do so, and he still is absolutely rich. I'm not a fan of the spineless MCs either, but this one seems less "spineless" and more "the way was shitty, and I do have a bit of a grudge over the girlfriend, but overall things worked out pretty well for what I wanted, so why be overly mad about it?"

I've gotta say, what I find so funny about this is the stereotype. I'm American, but I can see that even Japanese men know that, you can't please these bitches. :ROFLMAO:

Seems pretty realistic. In Japan "fitting in" and fulfilling expectations is what matters most.

Girlfriend cheated on him when they were on a relatiosnhip, didn't leave him before preparing her new life with the other dude, but she isn't in the agency so she couldn't be punished by them.
NTR guy humiliated him, decided to scrap his record with massive abuse of power and make him lose his job, because in his eyes adventurers are less than a handyman in ability, I think some even tried to say that was him being kind as is a risky job and that was actually a kindness, but in reality he just wanted to put down his bitch previous man.
The Ex friend introduced the two, and when she seen MC she blacklisted him from every working with them again, a act for the worst criminals, and again without thinking about MC, she even had no reason to do it as MC was already out of her friend life.
Their punishement from the agency was not being fired but being pushed in positions where they would decide to leave on their own, when normally firing and even calling the cops to arrest them would have been little.
And seeing the monetary and image damage they caused to the agency and the country is insane that nothing more was done, MC was planning to retire sure, but leaving on your terms or getting kicked out are very different things and they shouldn't use that as way to make a rightful punishment lighter.
Only the GF got real karma punishment, NTR dude worsened his situation all on his own after the demotion when the friend didn't get any trouble aside the demotion and being insulted at work when her actions weren't much different.

it'd be what MC wanted to have announced, but they'd also be pushing as hard as possible for the same narrative at the dungeon association.
there'd be a complete collapse and absolute hell to pay for the entire organisation if the public and the adventurers found out MC was forcibly terminated, had his fiance stolen by the dude terminating him, and was blacklisted by another employee, all without a single step of oversight.
if the truth came out, japan would get crippled by a mass exodus of mid and high tier adventurers to other countries.
which would have been entirely deserved

that justs makes her look worse than being an airhead then.
every character in this story is a caricature of a person and shouldn't be taken seriously.
It's legitimately one of the first series I've come across where I feel like you have to just switch off your brain as a reader in order to suspend disbelief, and hope that some aspect of the plot or the character designs appeals to you, because the longer you think about the plot and what each person is doing (especially the "antagonists"), the more braindead everyone becomes.
