I don't find it satisfying that the ex lost her job as we weren't given any inkling that she was horrible at her job nor was she active in getting the MC fired (though she did watch as her new boyfriend fired him). It feels like cheap wish fulfillment.
I'm pretty sure she was either decent or good at her job or the talk of wrongful termination wouldn't have came up. However she didn't just allow her new boyfriend to blacklist him (totally different from being fired) she cheated on him, publicly humiliated him while her boyfriend did what he did AND it negatively impacted the entire country.
It wasn't just some cheap wish fulfillment, the only thing that's not satisfying is even now she doesn't have a clue what she did wrong. She can't connect the very obvious dots her former boss just outlined for her.
So he started adventuring because of her, started earning, got a mentor and father figure AND lost said father figure while dating her and she doesn't even know all this!?!? She's beyond saving

…really? She didn’t mention Harukaze’s name at all? Seriously? This was supposed to be a retribution chapter but it felt so empty. It was good to get some backstory but man this didn’t come through the way it should’ve. I know she’ll find out sooner or later but this was not it. The ex has no idea what she did to get fired.
It’s also so funny to me that the MC and girl main plot line feels like filler compared to the revenge stuff happening in the background.

Do I NEED to remind you of the previous chapter when she played off HIM losing his job and "Struggling" (as she presumed) as HIS fault! Can't believe you forgot the previous chapters ESPECIALLY the EXACT Previous chapter where she refused to own up to what she did, CLAIMED it was for "his own good" and didn't care (even using his PRESUMED joblessness as HIS fault and MORE PROOF she made the right choice dumping him!)
She cries unfair, yet she only got a TASTE of the very SAME unfairness...so OF COURSE cause a "woman was crying" you call "wish fufillment"
Her karma isn't finished here! Wait till her "true love" mistreats her later (as he showed before, he never takes ANY responsibility for his actions! he's going to start blaming HER for all his misfortunes he himself brought on himself! That backstory of how she knew MC was changed abit, likely because even if it's KARMA that she lost her job so fast and unfairly like what she helped her AP and the receptionist do to MC! It still felt abit asshole like on the Owner's part! Here at least she has some EMOTIONAL but still understandable reasoning for what she did!

She only EVER had contact with two men, her AP now Partner and MC! She just got DONE talking with the Receptionist's friend about MC LAST CHAPTER which means not that long has passed! Maria even said it that she's "unbelievable" in FORGETTING what she did! She never saw what she did as wrong and even with that Friend, made the SAME excuses the Receptionist did in JUSTIFYING what they did (Oh it's for his own good) with the added "It's not my problem if he's struggling, isn't that his fault" completely ABSOLVING herself of her crime! She really IS full of herself with her Main Heroine Syndrome in how she feels what happened to her was unfair! While yes it is, it was only from the result of her OWN unfair behavior towards MC! But the fact she walked from that guilt free in her mind makes me not feel one bit sorry for her1

Helps when the SCUMBAG she chose treats her EXACTLY as they treated MC back in Chapter 1 and ADMITS to cheating on her! Even only liking her because of her face! ONLY at THAT POINT does she remember WHY she and MC got together and how GOOD he was to her! Remember when MC ALWAYS paid for everything, she got TOO USE to that, that it was A SURPISE later after this point when she marries the scumbag that he starts CARING about her spending "his money" and calls her a Spendthrift! This creates a COMPLEX as she didn't want to be SEEN as a "parasite" and leads to her FINAL bout of karma that leads up to what I mentioned! It was kind of HARSH since as much of a bitch move she did, she was UNDERSERVING of nearly getting gang raped and murdered later MAIMED! But still that was when the asswipe revealed EVERYTHING, and just like MC, she had to sit and TAKE IT, though unlike MC, she had no way of doing ANYTHING about it! Hell she only KEEPS her looks after maiming because MC was nice to LEAVE HER a potion as a parting gift when she was recovering after saving her from the mentioned threat, and she knows he did it, because "he would have done it for anyone else!" this is what makes her FINALLY collapse, that MAIN PRINCESS Syndrome/her ego! Finally understanding what a TRASH person she was! I'm happy so far they've never met again, she isn't PUSHING to do so and respecting his space and GROWING THE FUCK UP FOR REAL!

But then your blaming Reito for what happened! Sounds too close to "you deserved to get cheated on" which I don't think ANYONE will ever agree with! Tell me, why didn't she just BREAK UP with Reito, instead of what she did in Chapter 1! SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHERE HE LIVED AND REFUSED TO EVER COME TO HIS HOUSE! Sorry if I come as aggressive, but as someone SURROUNDED by self-absorbed cheaters (and being close to those they HURT and refuse to accept ANY responsibility for their actions, in my case, my mother and my POS Sperm Donor/Said cheaters first girlfriend who was like an AUNT to me) I take a DIM view on giving cheaters ANY excuses (and that also includes "sympathic cheating" I'm less hard core on that one, but still look down on it because I follow the creed as a black man of "FUCKING LEAVE THEN, don't cheat, act sneaky JUST LEAVE!") and that part about "partial blame" hit a "berserk button" of mine, hence my aggressive reply above (I grew up HEARING attempts to BLAME the cheated on SOME HOW for what happened or lead up to what happened! Again, "I never LIKE giving cheaters ANY excuses for their actions of ANY KIND!) Reito COULD have, but knowing what we know of her lack of CARE about his life other then what seems convenient for her (anything that makes it look like the relationship was TERRIBLE and she wasn't wrong for cheating and trying to RUIN him on the way out with NO REAL EXCUSE other then SPITE, which again, "What did Reito DO to earn even that SPITE" and you see NOTHING as she SHOUTS DOWN anyone attempting to hold her to account! Ok. Her boyfriend didn't blacklist him, only her friend did but that's beside the point as her boyfriend ONLY got demoted despite his actions (firing him) being much more devastating. The gf cheated on him and publically humiliated him sure, but I do not think that someone else fucking with her job is a satisfactory conclusion to that as (besides the owner knowing him) the MC had no hand in the action nor was there any build up to the result.

First off, she was a bystander to her boyfriend's action of firing the MC. She did not play an active hand in either his firing nor his blacklisting. So her cold attitude towards the whole incident is cold but it is not unemployment worthy.
Secondly, she does not value adventurers but that isn't inherently evil as it is the same as a family member saying that electricians aren't valueable and that he should be a lawyer instead. Sure she's a bitch about it but again I don't find it satisfying when a THIRD PARTY enacts "revenge" for the MC. Especially over the gf just being a gold-digger.
I am not upset because a woman is sad. I am upset because someone got disproportionatly punished for the actions they took. I would be happy with this result if she was playing an ACTIVE role (telling the bf to fire him) in him losing his job rather than her just being an ignorant ride-along about everything. The guy who came up with the idea AND executed it only got demoted. Hell, I would even be happy if it was the MC himself who got her fired because at least then he could be characterised as a bit petty and it would give him more depth.
