So I’m gonna guess that their family are the original bakenekos? (I remember a comment in one of the chapters about a bloodline?)

And they spread it out to everyone else so they obviously feel responsible for the non related bakenekos who now struggle to survive in a human world where they are neither just cats nor humans anymore.

(Or at least blue haired lady does — I’ll also guess that she is much older than she appears and probably does have 9 lives like someone above joked about?)

The page at the start: :giggle:|

The page at the end: 😐

Holy mother of tone whiplash.

P.S.: I'm wondering how working at a cat cafe... as a cat... is going to help them stand on their own, but I'm willing to let the author cook; assuming she doesn't drop this plot thread for a thousand pages like that one where Mio hates being treated like a cat, but not by MC, except she does too, but then also works at a cat care, where they treat her like a cat for hours at a time for money.

Cat god responsibilities? If her family changes cats into people, someone has to run a daycare for cat-people for the next nine generations.

It looks like they also work the business side of things. So this isn't a bad plan. They are spending a bit of time every day doing human things in an environment where no one's going to judge them because they tear up the toilet paper, stare intently at motes of dust, and suddenly drop everything to chase a laser pointer dot. And then they get money to go spend like a real human on real human things like food and rent!
