This is one of the stories i always come back to, and i just realized why. Aside the fact that the story is well paced and the art is really good, the characters, Ohtani in particular make it shine. Our main lad is an uncharacteristically human and realistic character for this genre.
Ohtani falls in love, but he doesn't understand immediately what loving another man means. He struggles with himself and his sexuality, the only thread driving him forward being the affection he feels for Saya. He's not this hypersexual, perfect seme that seems to be so mainstream in bl. He's a bro like many of us, dealing with day to day stuff on top of his own feelings.
Saya too is spendid, deciding to try to fall in love again despite past trauma, and being able to forgive Ohtani for his, very human, shortcomings without pushing blame. Saya deals with stuff. He's ready to push forward, he's got a life, bullying didn't kill his soul.
So yes, an outstanding story that hits very deep because it's so very nicely focused and realistic. 10/10.
