Chat, give me da full spoiler.
I have been reading the WN a bit today, just to see how the betrayal ends. I'm a bit disappointed on how it ended... It's not really bad but i expected more.

Let's start with Warrena, his party consists of the twins Meg and Bill, Ellie the Saintess, Mimi the Cat girl, Chloe the Guardian Dragon girl, and her attendants Liza and Elsa. These are our main characters.
The main antagonist of part 1 is Patrick. Princess Talyn is just an idiot... You'll see why in the summary below.

So as for the story, all the shit that happened to Warrena is because of Patrick. He is actually a spy who infiltrated from the neighbor country, the Empire. His goal was to get rid of the kingdoms strongest assets, Warrena and Chloe, so they can take the country.
As i said above, Princess Talyn is just an idiot who got seduced and used by him. She never loved Warrena, he was pushed on her by the King, she always found him boring. Anyway thanks to her Patrick succeeded in getting rid of Warrena as we saw in this ch. He gets rid of Chloe just by chance as she leaves the Kingdom on her own to join Warrena. She only cares about him, no one else, not even the Royal family.
Patrick also got rid of the last defense, Warrena's squad which was led by Gil now. The new 2nd in command Sonia betrayed them and they got ambushed and captured.
Here is where it got a bit disappointing, at least for me... Talyn didn't want to listen to the doctors and she lost the baby. But she decided to keep quiet because she was afraid Patrick will leave her if he finds out. One night she goes to his room but overhears him talking to someone. He was planning to launch an attack on the Kingdom now that their main defenses are gone. He then easily persuaded Talyn to join the Empire and be the new Queen. The idiot fell for it ofc...
So Talyn then lured the rest of her family in the dungeon during the attack, and they were all killed down there by Patrick and his soldiers. Talyn was actually happy seeing her sisters get killed, but she didn't know she was next! Patrick then showers her with sweet words only to coldly tell her she will never be a Queen and that he knows she lost the baby. The reason was him, he gave the doctors some kind of abortion pills to give her. As she is shocked he stabs her in the chest with his sword. She curses him until she died. Rip idiot!

So a few days later Warrena gets a a notice that he must come to the Palace by King's order (you can't ignore this or you will become a wanted criminal). The reason stated is that the King died and the 1st Princess the new Ruler wants to make his exile right. He consults his party and decides to go, bringing Ellie, Chloe and Liza with him. When they enter the Palace they notice to much guards and pretty much know something is fishy. In the throne room they find Patrick as the new King. After some back and forth words Warrena easily figures out what is going on... Patrick then gives them an option to join him or to die. Warrena is a bit worried since he basically has to fight alone since Chloe has some kind of pact with the Kingdom which doesn't allow her to fight or harm it's citizens. He decides to fight! Liza defends Ellie who starts praying to cast buffs and heals on Warren as he unleash his Blessing "God of War"! He becomes like a unstoppable killing machine but the side effect is he is losing HP fast. So he mows down all the soldiers and faints...
As he wakes up he finds himself in Ellie's lap. Wondering what happened he looks for Patrick only to see his body splattered on the throne. Chloe tells him the idiot shouted he doesn't care for the Kingdom which broke her pact and she just one shot him with a punch :kek:

After that they go to the dungeon to free Gil and his crew, and they find Talyn's body in one of the cells...

And that's it for part 1 of the story. There are 2 more parts, actually 1 and a half... Looks like the author abandoned the WN last year.

Sorry if it's a bit to much but i couldn't skip most of this to give a full picture. If someone who also read the WN finds some mistakes fell free to correct me

Wait... So, now the princess is hugging another person, angry at the MC for dying?
Did someone seduce her with charisma and lies? Why is she so angry if she's the one who cheated?
I am getting mixed signals throughout this whole encountered story

Kind of anticlimatic, so the villains just get themselves killed on their own through stupidity

Yeah, they could have at least made Warrena kill Patrick while in God of War mode. Chloe killing him off screen is kinda the main disappointment in all of this.

Talyn's and the Royal family's end was actually alright, IMO. It was satisfying to see her get what she deserved, betrayal.

My issue is that it doesn't seem like the MC gets his revenge (himself) in either case.
The princess, who is the actual betrayer here, never seems to repent or realise her mistake towards the MC - so there's no satisfaction in their undoings...

I suppose the king and the rest of the royal family getting theirs, for betraying someone so loyal, is kind of satisfying? :pout:

Any idea why this is categorised as an isekai?

I think that's a mistake. Even tho i just rushed trough all the slow life chapters i did not see any mention of reincarnation. The only thing that could cause a confusion is Warrena's name change, he is called "Dan" by the people in his new location...

Or the isekai thing kicks in after the betrayal is resolved, i stopped reading there. But that would be kinda dumb to introduce it that late.

Does the MC have any family? Like parents or siblings? Since the king said "family members Will be payed compensation"

Wait, is all the girls he's gonna encounter gonna be taken from him?
Nope, only that Princess. He had feelings for her but she never liked him. The King forced him on her, she always thought he was boring and didn't even like talking to him. She is an arrogant selfish bitch, so he actually got saved by losing her :lul:

As for the other girls, all 3 don't hide their feelings...
Ellie tells him she wants to be with him and that she will wait for him no matter how long it takes.
Mimi want him to be her mate since the time he saved her. After he refuses she straight up tells him she is ok with him just violating her :kek:
Chloe is more like "he is mine", since he is her Dragon Rider. She only cares for him, even tho she has a pact with the Royal Family and the whole country, it doesn't matter to her since she only sees him.

MC is surprisingly not dense! He knows about their feelings even before they told him, Ellie especially (she is his late best friends daughter btw). But he is a bit broken by the betrayal and doesn't feel like jumping into romance any time soon. He even says he knows Ellie would never betray him like the Princess but it still bothers him. He feels like he betrayed her in some way by agreeing to the King's engagement plan.

Btw Warrena doesn't know what the Princess is really like, that's probably the main reason for him feeling insecure about new relationships. And he will never find out since the whole family was killed before he meet them again.

I did not see anything about this in part 1 of the WN. I might have missed it if he only mentioned it, but there is no one like that who plays a bigger role.

Lol if the King somehow did this because the princess asked for it, then it'll be peak stupidity on the Kingdom part.
Let's see in the future chapters.

base on the plot summary when the king found out that the third princess cheated on the mc the king Decided on his own to cover up the scandal by faking the mc death by saying that he died during a campaign

Personally, I find it odd that the MC, as old as he is, didn't feel skeptical about the princess' 'feelings' for him when her father, the king, basically forced that engagement on both of them. Perhaps growing up as a commoner, he didn't realize how most marriages involving royalty or even nobility is mainly political with little to no romantic feelings to be shared between the spouses. It would be a miracle if such things develop after the knot was tied. A princess falling in love with an esteemed, strong knight is something that's mostly seen in romantic fiction and shouldn't be applied to real life under any circumstances, according to this setting, anyway, but the MC here may have been naive in that regard.

Despite how much he really wants to kill the royal family in retaliation (justified with the betrayal on their part, personally), even if he has cut all ties with the kingdom, aside from avoiding being branded a criminal, he at least has a moral compass where committing adultery should not be punished by death (Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, a life for a life). This is way higher of a moral standard for someone in that time period where a divorce license and a stoning would be the expected outcome, so I can understand some readers being a little miffed at this development, but I don't have that big of an issue with it.

The princess not realizing her mistakes and not repenting for her sins, and with the way she goes according to the spoiler in one of the comments, I imagine she was very self-centered, more than what was expected of a royal, to where she had no point in her life she had taken accountability for her wrongdoings. It's especially so if the king's actions in exiling MC wasn't the first time he swept his daughter's sins under the rug. Her greatest fear up to that point was abandonment by her affair partner after learning their child died in the womb, and not at the prospect of death, itself, it seemed. That is what I'm guessing what you and a lot of others were probably looking for. Unfortunately, however, there are people in reality, even staring the face of death, who will never feel guilt nor see their actions as mistakes, will put themselves in the highest of moral grounds, and will blame everything and everyone but themselves for their own downfall. We may not be satisfied with the way they'll go from this world, but we can only imagine how they'll make themselves right at home in hell.

Is the villain some big shot noble that's why they choose him over the MC? Cause if you think about it the King could just have order to take the villain's head for touching his daughter who's already engaged to his strongest knight and have her get aborted to cover the scandal that it would bring.

the King couldn't even think the benefit that his kingdom would get if his future descendants would have the gene of his strongest knight. Shame...

The whole setup doesn’t make any sense.

  1. As soon as the baby is born everyone in the kingdom will be able to do the math and figure out that the princess is a cheating slut.
  2. Making up a story about the MC dying is a waste of time because lots of people know that he returned alive. An entire knight order returning is something that thousands of people would come out to see. The whole group should have been just killed before they returned.
  3. The princess didn’t just betray the MC, she betrayed the will of the king as well, which is treason but somehow it’s not a problem?
  4. The king was also ok with a foreign noble impregnating his daughter outside of marriage… why? That would not only be a capital crime and potentially an act of war.

I like big boobed childhood friends in lowkey lewd priestess outfit who totally wants the D.

Abit too short for a first chapter tho.

Thank you for picking this up.
