What's up with page one? "The man was banished from the kingdom, blamed for everything." No he wasn't? No one blamed him for shit. The official story is that he died honorably in battle, and all the people in the actual hall clearly felt sorry for him but thought it was more politically convenient to screw him over rather than risk the scandal of the princess cheating on her fiancee. No one's blaming him for anything. They say "dumping all the blame on [him]" on page 22 as well... is this just a japanese word that translates awkwardly or something?

I'm reading manga, talking about manga, so what I'm saying is I'm expecting more tropes that are standard in isekai type stories to be showing up.
O . o
Isekai are not just fantasy in nature. You can have a historical isekai without magical, supernatural, or fantasy themes. Just like you can isekai into more sci-fi space fairing themed universe. Just because fantasy happens to be the most popular destination for isekai tropes doesn't in any way mean they all are.

This is a fantasy novel. There are no isekai themes yet present in the story. Stop being a lazy git, and expand your vocabulary rather then trying to change the meaning existing words.

Think there were multiple factions present in the throne room when he was exiled. Some were sympathetic while others were more hostile due to his commoner background. So maybe the dumping blame part was from the crusty bluebloods rather then the sympathetic few.

or, and here me out, the MC isnt a psychopath and has no desire to cause the deaths of countless people he fought all those years to protect to get revenge. im sure theres tons of chinese manwha you can read thats more your speed where the MC is an immoral fuck who slaughters entire clans of innocent people because some lower member said a mean word to the MC.
This. He literally outright said he wanted revenge.. which seemed to somehow elude a lot of people here who are acting like he's some insufferably-soft MC spouting idealistic bullshit about forgiveness.

Don't get me wrong, I love me a good revenge story even if it's somewhat revenge porn.. but in my book the only acceptable kind of revenge is the kind that:

1. Isn't complete overkill or a revenge act utterly disproportionate in comparison to the motivating wrongdoing

2. Truly cuts deep and makes the target of said revenge genuinely suffer for their crime(s)

3. Doesn't intentionally involve collateral damage and/or harm to innocent people—only way this possibly understandable or acceptable is if there's additionally a motivation to do greater good and not just revenge.

MC would've surely had to violate the third condition I listed—maybe even to the point of slaughtering his own former comrades—in order to be allowed to walk away.. should he have given into his rage and physically retaliated against that mall Santa-ass king and his bitch of a daughter.

Remember:
True & morally-acceptable revenge is NOT for the weak incapable. Maybe not even for the moderately-capable. Usually, these are conditions that are absurdly hard to truly meet in a lot of circumstances and typically would require some serious plot armor for a happy ending with absolutely no negatives.

Since some of you requested it, here is the whole Part 1 plot of the WN. Enjoy!
Thanks much for that run-down. Hopefully some of the plot-points will be handled better in this adaptation. And given that the author has abandoned the WN, I could easily see them wrapping this whole thing up with the conclusion of the first part.

And folks, please. Don't call it an ax if that does wind up being the case. If it is, then it was planned to end the manga at that point, and not a cancellation because of poor sales. And honestly, I wouldn't mind if the publisher decided on a nice and tidy ending.

Ellie seems really foul-mouthed in this translation. Is she really that way in the original?

I think Asmodus deleted their work since they got banned.
No, MangaDex cut them off completely and banned them, then deleted everything they uploaded. Its for the best. Any association with Asmodeus, or any group that permanently paywalls chapters puts a target on MD, even if they don't take responsibility for their actions. Essentially "if you wanna pull that shit you're not doing it on my site"

Since some of you requested it, here is the whole Part 1 plot of the WN. Enjoy!

Let's start with Warrenna, his party consists of the twins Meg and Bil, Ellie, Mimi (a Fox/Cat girl), Chloe (a Dragon girl), and her attendants Liza and Elsa (also some type of Dragon girls). These are our main characters.
The main antagonist of part 1 is Patrick (Count Palatine). Princess Taryn is just an idiot... You'll see why in the summary below.

So as for the story, all the shit that happened to Warrenna is because of Patrick. He is actually a spy who infiltrated from the neighbor country, the Empire. His goal was to get rid of the Kingdoms strongest assets, Warrenna and Chloe, so they can take the country.
As i said above, Princess Taryn is just an idiot who got seduced and used by him. She actually never loved Warrenna, he was pushed on her by the King so the cheating was no big deal for her. Anyway, thanks to her Patrick succeeded in getting rid of Warrena as we saw in ch1. He gets rid of Chloe just by chance as she leaves the Kingdom on her own to join Warrena. She only cares about him, no one else, not even the Royal family or the Kingdom which she swore to protect.
Patrick also got rid of the last defense, Warrenna's squad which was led by Gil now. The new 2nd in command Sonia betrayed them and they got ambushed and captured.

Here is where it got a bit disappointing, at least for me...
Taryn didn't want to listen to the doctors and she lost the baby. She decided to keep quiet because she was afraid Patrick will leave her if he finds out. One night she goes to his room but overhears him talking to someone. He was planning to launch an attack on the Kingdom now that their main defenses are gone. She confronts him, but he easily persuaded her to join the Empire and be the new Queen. Since she is jealous of her sisters who are above her it was not really hard for Patrick to get her on his side...
So Taryn then lured the rest of her family in the dungeon during the Emipre's ambush attack, and they are all killed down there by Patrick and his soldiers. Taryn was actually happy seeing her sisters get killed, but she didn't know what was next! Patrick showers her with sweet words only to coldly tell her she will never be a Queen and that he knows she lost the baby. The reason was him, he gave the doctors some kind of abortion pills to give her. As she is shocked he stabs her in the belly with his sword. She curses him until she died (RIP idiot!).

So a few days later Warrenna gets a notice that he must come to the Palace by King's order (you can't ignore this or you will become a wanted criminal). The reason stated is that the King died and the 1st Princess, the new Ruler, wants to make his exile right. He consults his party and decides to go, bringing Ellie, Chloe and Liza with him. When they enter the Palace they notice way more guards than usual and pretty much know something is fishy. In the throne room they find Patrick sitting on the throne. After some back and forth words Warrenna easily figures out what is going on... Patrick is officially the new King since the law states if there is no Royal family member to be crowned, the next in line is the person of the highest status. He as a count and former princess fiancé is more then qualified. Patrick then gives them an option to join him or to die. Warrenna is a bit worried since he basically has to fight alone, Chloe has some kind of sacred pact with the Kingdom which doesn't allow her to fight or harm it's citizens. He decides to fight! Liza stands to defend Ellie as she starts praying to cast buffs and heals on Warrenna. He then unleashes his Blessing "God of War"! He becomes like a unstoppable killing machine, a pure Berserker (I'll add a picture of it in a spoiler tag below) but the side effect is he is losing HP fast. So he mows down all the soldiers with no trouble at all but faints before confronting Patrick...
As he wakes up he finds himself in Ellie's lap. Wondering what happened he looks for Patrick only to see his body splattered on the throne. Surprised to see that, Chloe tells him she killed him. The moron shouted he doesn't care for the Kingdom which broke Chloe's pact and she just one shot him with a normal punch! :kek:

After that they go to the dungeon to free Gil and his crew, and they find Taryn's body in one of the cells...

And that's it for part 1 of the story. There are 2 more parts, actually 1 and a half... Looks like the author abandoned the WN last year. I ran trough a bit of part 2 but it was kinda "meh" so i dropped it. I doubt it will even be in the manga to be honest.

Here is also a bit more i wrote about the main girls and the cheating princess...

All 3 of Warrenna's girls love him and don't hide their feeling!
  • Ellie tells him she wants to be with him and that she will wait for him no matter how long it takes.
  • Mimi want him to be her mate since the time he saved her. After he refuses she straight up tells him she is ok with him just violating her :kek:
  • Chloe is more like "he is mine", since he is her Dragon Rider. Not really a Yandere but a bit possesive.

Warrenna is surprisingly not dense! He knows about their feelings even before they tell him, Ellie especially. But he is a bit broken by the betrayal and doesn't feel like jumping into romance any time soon. He even says he knows Ellie would never betray him like the Princess but it still bothers him. He feels like he betrayed her in some way by agreeing to the King's engagement plan.

Btw Warrenna doesn't know what the Princess is really like (that she never loved him or cared about him), that's probably the main reason for him feeling insecure about new relationships. And he will never find out since the whole family was killed before he meet them again.

And now to end this long post, here is the God of War unleashed, as seen in ch5.2.

Thanks for this. Suppose it's always possibly the manga (if popular) could continue past novel. Rarely happens but iirc this happened with titles like Twin Star Exorcists & The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter.
