Well, this time it got better than the character competition because she's fixing some of the mistakes, but I have to agree with
@SilverChaika, this arc feels messed up.
I understand there isn't much to be done after the characters go through their respective arcs and grow up, so you throw in more characters to change the dynamic and give a new life to the story, but instead of progressing naturally, like having Aoba be the one teaching a newbie the same way Yagami taught her, the new girl is in the exact same position as her, even upstaging her in the char design for some bullshit reason. Heck, this could have been the story about Yun showing Aoba that, despite her having defeated Yagami in the previous game, that only meant she had a better idea, not that she had reached the same level as her superiors, and that in a segment of the industry where the subjective is as valuable as the objective, anyone can upstage you for having a more interesting concept than you can come up with at any time!
Instead, we got Aoba repeating Yagami's arc without any of the substance, Yun being upstaged in the same manner despite having a better design and clearer vision of what the director wanted, and the focus being put entirely on the director not knowing what to do in a really inorganic manner for the character.
This arc feels forced! New Game was so good up until the PECO arc, but after the two new girls got into the mix, the overall quality started dropping. This arc feels too forced when compared to the first half of the series!
