this was a nice chapter, I am glad to see an update on this one.
Also since the subject of shipping is going on, I just want to throw my hat on it and say that I am all for any and all relationships to develop between the cast, not just between the established couples.
Also I know it ain't happening but Kou x Aoba is still best ship don't @ me

@SJ7. I don't even understand why is that case! Like i do get why other ships may more popular (and I do like most ships ) but considering Kou is pretty much the deutargonist/second main character (until she leaves at least) and they both have really good chemistry and in my opinion the most developed relationship (with said relationship also being the the main focus for most of the run) I am genuenly surprised how little fan support i see of the ship ;-;
Still remains my OTP for this manga though!

@Zexalfan May have something to do with Rin and Kou acting pretty much like a married couple plus the fact that Rin had pretty much confess to Kou already and well also because Aoba love to tease Hifumi. Kou is just her model and mentor, she had a lot of respect for her.

@Liliwyt, Oh I get that, I really do, rather, what I am trying to say is that I am surprised how "absoulte" (not sure if that would be the correct way to say it) the way this fandom ships, like in many other fandoms you have your most popular ships yes, but there are also not as popular but still well-liked ships, but it seems like the only ships with a following are those two.

I feel like their relationship would have been very popular under diffeent circumstances, and I don't disagree about Kou being her model and mentor, but when it comes to shipping it doesn't really detract from it (especially when you don't really expect it to be canon or anything).

Regardless I am not really trying to complain, I am just kinda sad about it lol

I'm actually rarely satisfied with the more obvious pairings in this type of series but to me Kou x Rin is just a perfect balance of compatible character traits and common experiences. In my eyes they just ''work'' in a real life possibility sort of way, independant of how much the author is pushing it . TBH, I can't even imagine Aoba having an actual romantic relationship at this point in her life, she's still very much immature in that department.

@Zexalfan To answer your question, I think it's more about Rin than anything for most people. Rin having a crush on Kou in particular. Tokutaro will always give KouRin shippers the most "romantic" content, so people generally have more of an inclination towards that pair.

And, if nothing else, pretty much the whole cast including Aoba ends up supporting Rin which leaves her with no competition.

I personally don't care for KouRin at all, or suffice to say I'm a hater, but I'm not delusional. It's pretty much set in stone compared to everything else as far as canon ship material goes.

The raws are very telling as well. They fucked me up a little bit. Lol.

Even if they don't become an official couple at the end, they'll go out with a bang.

Such is life. At least there's always the good old imagination.

I can’t help but feel like I’m reading this new development just to get it over with. Last chapter really discouraged me and now I’m even more discouraged reading this chapter. Really hope it gets better soon. Of course if it doesn’t it’s not like I’ll drop it but I really don’t want to go through the displeasure of reading something boring or just annoying.
