I think there's no more hope for me when I saw the 1st page and the 1st thing I thought was "Where's the cleavage? I see well formed breasts but no cleavage."
Anyway. I have a feeling Momiji will have her own muddled feelings about making the promo art instead of Aoba. They're both pretty similar but in a different direction.

Well, tbh, author approach this time kinda hard for me.
Idk what his plan for aoba, but seeing aoba like this kinda hard for me, as i kinda rooting for her.
It's like author giving too much attention to momiji.
And right now i kinda lost all my hype while waiting the new chapter come.

It may appear that way at first glance, but it's really Momiji that is getting seriously shafted here.
Though I suppose it may require a bit of reading ahead to notice some of it. But one of the biggest shafts should be becoming apparent already: she doesn't even get to star in the arc that is supposed to be about her. In fact she's barely appearing in it, while the focus is almost entirely on furiously reassuring the readers that Aoba is still doing all sorts of Very Important Work, despite having lost the contest for the key position.

Drawing UI elements... that's a pretty important part of game development that never gets tackled.
A bad UI can break a great game, that was smart of the mangaka to choose that part for the next challenge.

They gave it to Momoji because they didn't want the fucking mess that happened with Peco to happen again.
Also because putting all your eggs in one basket is dumb as hell.
If you depend on just one artist the moment they fuck off somewhere else you'll be left with nothing to shill with. It's much better to invest on some newbies so they can grow up into pros so you have more options in the future.
Aoba got fucked hard? Yes. But at least something good came out of it in regards of how the company is handling these matters, and Aoba came out winning too in the end with Kou shilling her too.

Barring any complication, key visual/promo art should be the main designer job and on peco they dismiss that in favor of boosting sales.
Aoba was gung-ho about doing it before it's given to yagami, hence her disappointment eventhough in the end she admit that yagami's work was better than her.
if you re-read the past chapter where the job given to yagami (chapter 49), she was also adamant against it as it should be the main designer who do the key visual. but they keep pushing it to the point that if yagami didn't do it then they'll pay another famous illustrator.
So what hazuki means by 'being sincere in production' isn't about choosing unknown name instead of using somebody's fame to boost sales, but letting the main designer do her job regardless of her fame.

Seriously, I hope this arc end quickly soon. Aoba has already suffered enough. I know that Aoba is not perfect but for the god's sake, this is ALREADY ridiculous that she lost design competition three times in a row and they decided to give Momiji Key Visual because if they keep doing 'that', they will eventually collapse. Really? The company seriously forgot 'marketing'? The director of game is just a newbie director and character designer is also not well known... Aoba may be ok with that but still.. And it's not that I dislike Momiji but this arc seriously giving her way too good treatment compared to Aoba in her own PECO arc.
