Additionally, for a long time Midori's been my favorite character of this series. She has done plenty of bad things, but her heart is in a place where it is sensible why she acts that way. Out of all of the chapters, this is the sweetest. Nezumi was going all psycho-killing mode until she heard Midori screaming out her feelings. Not even Aoi could make her snap out of that mode. It was all Midori.... Her one and true friend.

If the author really wants to be sadistic, the only person who actually ever cared for her which is nezumi herself would end her. It's not hard to feel sympathy when the author had dumped all the tragedy tropes on midori and you might even want to let her pass with the ultimate plot armor, but it's also kinda hard to just give her that. Both her and nezumi aren't all innocent who only killed criminals, but like the bastard said, she could have just lied low with asagi, yet she decided to fuck with nezumi and dragged in innocent people. Death is her peace.
