@zzmoonyzz I don't think that's why he chose to do ditch cleaning, that's what the others were deciding it was. He just wants to live a simple life, doing simple tasks. The problem is that he goes way overboard when doing them, and he's garnering way too much attention.

@Scarifar but on page 12 his thought bubble literally says " well, i just want to experience what Rygaard went through". i'm sorry but for some reason this one thing really bothers me.

Lets put this into perspective here. Priests believe healing power is determined by piety. The one with the superior healing power says it is not by piety but magic power, the inferior says that is blasphemy. This is where the paradox comes into play.
Superior piety = superior healing
Inferior piety = inferior healing
Inferior piety is calling blasphemy on superior piety?

Maybe try and be less useless? You won't lose money that way! Easier said than done, I know.

Thanks for the chapter!
MC really needs to learn some common sense. That and what magic is considered average, midgrade, and strong. As for the others' mission they were suppose to solve the cause of the creepy voice at night, didn't say anything about extermination. After all, if it turned out to be a guy who got some money, is depressed, and so was getting drunk every night while moaning his woes it wouldn't be mission complete if they killed him but murder. Rather than deciding failed it themselves they should just report to the guild that a dark blob hiding in one of the ditches was the source of the noise and that Lex killed it. Granted they didn't kill the dark blob, which is probably a higher ranked extermination request than the level of the quest they had, but they did find out the cause of the noise so at least shouldn't be considered a failed quest even if don't get paid for solving it themselves.

I'd say you're wrong on both counts. What MC lacks is common sense, which has nothing to do with either of those.

He is intelligent: he grasped the situation with the boars pretty damn quickly, and worked out a near perfect solution on the spot.
He is wise: he knows the value of low-level labour like ditch cleaning, and that taking shortcuts for a better result is fine as long as it harms no one.

So far, his only failings have been in relation to societal norms. Those are not bound to intelligence, and just passingly to wisdom. They are understood through life experience, which he has very little of in this current life. His earlier lives are no help, since the world is not the same.
What a great TED talk

This is hard to read. MC must have suffered brain damage when entering his third life. A hero then a sage but has less common sense than Mile of all people. It's like these authors are in competition to see who can make the most dumbass MC. It's not airheaded at all, he's completely oblivious to anything around him. What makes it worse is he has the arrogance to tell people that "it's not a big deal" or "it's not that amazing" when he does things they can only dream of, that's not humility, it's belittling and demeaning to the other person.

Wait, their mission was to investigate the cause of the sounds around town at night. It shouldn't matter if the MC killed the monster, their investigation is still fruitful and the question of the noises is answered. There's nothing there about subjugation, because then they wouldn't rank the quest for beginners with an unknown monster. If it makes them feel better they could still patrol and make sure the disturbances are gone.

I usually do not comment about authors but god damn this author's intelligence is lower than an ape. MC has lived for 2 lives and is on his 3rd one. In one he was a hero, in the other, he was a sage. You're telling me there is a fkn dumb sage? Like you want me to believe that someone with MC's brain has the capabilities to be a sage? Aren't sage supposed to be wise? This MC is just dumb. Do not use confuse the word sage with wizard. Wizards can be dumb, but sages are wise. Also, letting sage aside, for someone who has lived for 2 lives, this guy is still fkn dumb.
That ends my rant. Thank you.
Well we'll see as the story goes. Right now he has magical, technical, and tactical knowledge from his past life. What he's lacking is common sense for this time period, like what monsters and what types of magic are considered powerful, and how much strength is normal. His whole point was he had no sense of a normal life with his past lives, and here he grew up in a small remote village which I'm willing to bet is not normal for this world. It's passable as ignorance for now, but it'll be dumb if he keeps doing ridiculous stuff without catching on to the fact that it's not normal. I guess I'll see as I read on. Personally I would rather he keep doing ridiculous stuff, but while understanding it's not normal. There's too many stories of OP mc's that act weak for what ammounts to pointless reasons.
