Heh...

Seems @mahtan writes "enfasizes" instead of emphasises... but only gets criticised by @Sola for writing "elfs".

Anyways... the whole thing with Rona reminds me of... possibly the best KonoSuba scene ever...

How the fuck did she understand their elvish speak? She clearly got what they said at the end to get mad about it.

the elves said “the only human words that we remember” meaning that they were talking in the human language, its really not that hard to just read the chapter so that you can actually comprehend what youve just read dumbass😭

Stupid male elves. The smaller the boobs, the nicer they are. Flat chests are the sexiest chests.

Commentary on the chapter:
This might be overanalyzing, but I can see some of the author's nationalism and ideology shining through. The elves are being compared to Kamikaze pilots in some panels. So by extension, the oncoming monsters must represent Americans. Meanwhile, perhaps the "please say you did well" segment seems more a message towards the Japanese readers, imploring them to say that towards the deceased Japanese soldiers of World War 2 facing seemingly impossible odds as the war drew to a close (in which case, Rona represents said Japanese reader when facing the two kneeling elves).

Renya fought in WW1, not WW2. No kamikaze pilots. Also, the issue wasn't about Americans, but the Chinese, with whom Japan has had a loooooooooooong conflict. Japan took over a chunk of China chasing the Germans out, and had to give it back.

It was the Second World War.

A relevant quote from the author's page on this site: "Based on multiple pieces of evidence, people determined that the protagonist of the series likely committed war crimes during World War II (only to then get to enjoy a second life in another world after dying at 94, unpunished)."

The author of the manga (not the artist, btw) is a racist and a fascist. And is a big apologist for Japan's conduct during the first half of the 20th century. A quite repugnant fellow.

And you can do the rest of the research, yourself, as I don't intend to waste any more of my own time on this.

I dropped this manga many years ago and never expected to comment on it again, but if I see someone stating a misinformed view, then I feel the need to educate and inform to correct that mistaken belief.
