I think I said it at some earlier point but this feels very... mean spirited somehow. Its like the author wanted to make some torture porn drama but was forced to pretend its a comedy or something.

I say pretend because its not funny at all.

I don't know why people are complaining, the series has been mostly a comedy and it decided to have 1-2 slightly more serious chapters, I expect the tone will lighten up a lot after the wrestling match. I'm still enjoying it, and that underlying darkness was there from the start: the "what if he fails to save childhood friend" is a dark af possibility looming over everything, it's just that the tone was a lot more positive.
