Also his luggage skill has been explained to make everything into separate compartments, so whenever he wants anything it's always "on top", since he just wills it to be the thing he gets hold of.

Meanwhile the backpack they found was explicitly for a thief that just wanted to be able to grab as much loot as possible and then sort it all out at home.

If only the party had 2 braincells all together they could probably figure it out, that doesn't seem to be the case though

Not being able to handle a basic monster is definitely more than just a little change by losing him he must be doing something extra what if senses MC he has two skills instead of one for some plot reason he doesn't know about that skill and that's what calls them to be so powerful.
