Awfully sweet.

Fun coincidence: while playing around with possible ways of rendering the doll's name, I found that it somewhat resembles crecia, Spanish for (to my understanding) has, is, or will grow up, depending on accompanying words.

Mangadex needs a 15/10 rating. So good. This transcends manga. This deserves to be an actual fairy tale told to kids around the world. Thanks for the translation

It felt like everything was leading to the new shop being built over the doll store turning out to be the tailor shop where Sola will work. And then Sola is adopted by or becomes business partners with the doll maker. I wonder why the author didn't choose to write that.

Magic is real, Cilisa talks, because if she was only in Sola's imagination, she wouldn't know about the doll maker.

I like the idea of "magic is real but just happens to follow imagination rules". Cilisa only talks one-on-one to imaginative children and inebriated adults.

Toy Story is this 100%

Phineas and Ferb is also kind of like this?

Page 21 is a time skip where Sola grows up and stops being able to hear Cilisa. Sola's outfit changes in her next appearance and she acts more maturely. Cilisa also can't move while Sola is watching.

This was... endearing. I expected it to have heavy-handed message and a very conclusive ending, but it didn't. Instead, it had an indirect message about how children grow up, and how strong they can be.

Just speaking about my personal opinions, throughout my life I've always heard people irresponsibly talk about children needing this or that in their lives to grow up into proper adults. So it warms my heart to see a story about children raising each other and even having the maturity to have compassion for a self-centered parent.

A good story indeed. Despite the scene with the doll artisan, I can't help but think Cilisia was just a normal doll and all the scenes of her being alive were Sola, and later Vivi, imagining it. The craftsman part could have also been delirium tremens. Since Sola seemed to be initially under stress, not knowing what she should be aiming for, when the other kids of her age were already training to become cooks, farmers, maids, etc, I could see it happening.
Magic is real, Cilisa talks, because if she was only in Sola's imagination, she wouldn't know about the doll maker.

Gave this a reread and here is my timely conclusion:

Sola was fostered by the Dollmaker and his wife after their daughter died as a "replacement" for their dead daughter but it didn't work out and she was returned to the orphanage. That's why Sola knows the doll is named Cilisia. The end where "Cilisia" is Sola talking with the dollmaker wondering why she was abandoned, and the doll maker called her "a doll who's happiness was supposed ot be his daughter's".
Sola tells him she's not accepting his attempts to push her away but "children grow up quickly and if he continues being a drunk angry at the world he'll be left behind." - she still wants to have a relationship with him as her foster father, but if he doesn't try to make an effort it might be too late.

Because I'm a hopium addict:
I took the final part to be that the Dollmaker is returning to work with Sola as his apprentice and making the doll's clothes.
