It's the equivalent of using the wrong math formula and still getting to the right answer
More like trying to use a XVIth century model that's not even thematically suitable, apllying it wrong, making every possible calculation error and interpreting the result wrong, just to arrive at the correct anwser. A true "but thou must!" moment.

Difference between manga and reality is how hated nobles are in the former, while in the latter they were much more generally liked, more like celebrities. If they were as hated as in manga, there would've been more revolts.

He's yapping about marrying her, and she's only thinking of the one person she actually cares about.

"How on earth are we going to stop the wedding in this situation?"
So she's including herself in stopping it.

Pretty bride.

"Even Alistar wouldn't be that stupid..."
Yes he would, and it's such a classic.

Stopped in his tracks by a pre-emtive argument. So he didn't have more of a plan than that. Well, makes sense. He is that stupid.

"That's only if she chooses to ignore your true feelings (trash)."
No, she's okay with that.

And he's actually a demon thing. Accidentally correct.

He should have arrived on a unicorn. 🦄
If he tried that the unicorn would just combust into a skeletal burning NightMARE Unicorn

Cid, Krai, Alistar: said some bullshit

The World: AGREE
Well to be fair he was kinda sus right from the start
Especially the part where the "king" supposedly agreed to it without explaining HOW THE HELL did he come to that kind of conclusion

Gotta admit, I was starting to lose interest until he managed to bluff his way out of the frying pan and into the fire, now I remember why I read this.

Reminds me of that other harem story with the chuuni guy whose delusions match the world 100%.

There's nothing suggesting that the king didn't really give his approval. This demon (or whatever it is) was masquarading as a high noble and Marla was avoiding marriage. There was a risk that the teritory would not get an inheritor and that's reason enough for a monarch to "strongly suggest" a matrimonial candidate. This was done IRL though usually when the ruler had a "special interest" in the region, either of the spouses or both. Of course, Marla could have shot it down if she put her foot down, but she's obvioslu loyal to a fault.
