It was a very fun read, and I agree with the sentiment of the story having a generic development, thinking if it ever gets serialized, it'd be better for it to be refined and changed to have a better sense of identity. But by the last page I felt like it's fine to go on like this, it'd be fun to have a story of an ojou-sama that suddenly changes her performance at school to show her true colors and see the developments this could entail.
Not like we could have a more nuanced and less artificial (tho I'm not from Japan, so I can't really say that teens don't actually go and say that) way of our male lead be reprimanded for being in touch with the popular girl. And the untouchable perfect beauty troupe could also be refined into something more interesting as well, though we have works like Komi-san that show that it can still work.
Now, thank you very much for the scanlation, I'm far from disapointed with this one-shot, I enjoyed it quite a bit. From the art, to the designs, to the whole journey from start to finish, I'd be happy to see this one turning into a series.
Edit: Looking at the author's socials, he indeed IS a big fan of Call of the Night/Yofukashi no Uta. No surprise there, though Saionji still really reminds me a lot of Shikimori-san.
