this takes me back to a few chapters ago, when eunyung returns from w/e he was because i forgot, and he's met with juwan and haejoon chatting and studying together on the kitchen table... i don't think it's him thinking haejoon and juwan are cool, but it's most definitely the last sentence
i think behind that last panel, eunyung's developed once again, because he genuinely cares for haejoon and juwan... "i feel like i get less angry when i'm in that house" because greeted with his shells of parents, he couldn't do anything else but harden his exterior, embracing people's attention on him; because who else would give him the same amount at home?
faced with the burden of being born, he succumbs to his fate. probably, because in an effort to run away from it, he seeks out the bad crowd, he acts like a delinquent, and that in and of itself is succumbing to his fate, because approached in the hara kang arc, he continuously brings himself down, because he can't imagine himself as somebody like her, even though he expresses sympathy (sometimes) for his actions time and time again, rubbing hara's hands or when haejoon pukes over him lying about spitting in his food
in his home, he can't escape, so he
doesn't, associating subconsciously now made a conscious decision himself with his parents, his delinquent friends, indulging in stealing and lying and beating people up, but in a way that's also him running away from his life altogether, so when the shopkeeper tells him he'll call his parents, eunyung vehemently denies him calling them
he associates himself with his parents, his "home", one that's been nothing but callous to him, so he retaliates back at the world, callous to it back
and then after his tent-home's been ripped up, he has no choice but to go to the cursed test-of-courage spiritual occult house which you can hear spirits and see things when you're all alone or if there's less people than usual house, and then runs into haejoon, the man he stole the wallet from, and then they have so much more in common than he thought, and then juwan comes along too, and so much more happens...... and then they bond, growing even closer......
at the start, he considers the house nothing more than just a place he can sleep in, but when embraced by the same two people with fondness, where he's welcome, where he can stay, where he can chat to the same two people without being met by all that's not kindness, he lets down his guard, because he
can let down his guard now, because this really
is his home,
he wants to keep living with haejoon and juwan.......
they're people he can go to, they're people he can consider friends, they're people he's lighthearted around, they're people he can be comfortable with, they're people who aren't from his past of delinquency, but from the present, a new life he's forging for himself little-by-little, and starting with haejoon goh and juwan park ;;;;;
going into that house was the best decision of my entire life...
seriously...
there's literally a few hundred chapters after this one, what the hell am i doing w/ a character analysis like this that's acting like its the last few chapters ;_;
