hating Marie is shameful. and, well, this topic is really uncomfortable to discuss.
her aunt's lack of reaction is desperate because of how real it is. even in times like we are now, the increase in misogyny in virtual environments is unbelievable. that is indeed hateful. a bunch of stupid people doing stupid things and think they are right with their stupid ideology that literally dehumanizes people.
Marie's case and that of the other kid (that was being bullied) only have the theme of violence in common. about how hard it is to bear it when the abuser is so close, things just getting worse because of the threats. but what Marie is going through can't be resolved like school bullying. what the girl suffers is something far beyond her and perhaps has no solutions. the people who should take care of her above all else are responsible for her pain. i swear, what a difficult topic to read about... esp if you have so much to relate to.
